Illuha originalmente era un dúo conformado por Tomoyoshi Date y Corey Fuller, quienes están activos desde 2011. Este año se convierten en trío con la incorporación del baterista Tatsuhisa Yamamoto.

Date tiene varios discos editados quien ha trabajado con Federico Durand como Melodía, Ken Ikeda, Toshimaru Nakamura, por nombrar a algunos. Corey Fuller es un músico electrónico experimental activo desde 2004, quien ha trabajado con Greg Davis, Chihei Hatakeyama, Richard Skelton, entre otros artistas. En tanto, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto comienza a producir su propia música en 2009, colaborando con Jim O'Rourke, Eiko Ishibashi, Keiji Haino, Phew, Oren Ambarchi, entre otros.

“Tobira” son seis piezas de ambient con incrustaciones de técnicas electroacústicas. Arranca con “Mukaemizu” donde los sonidos ondulantes que pululan en el espacio y las frases de piano, se complementan con los suaves golpes y casi roces al bombo y platillos que deambula con los ritmos aleatorios en un contexto de improvisación. “Tsukubai” navega entre nubes de sintetizadores, mientras Yamamoto frota con las plumillas la batería develando una textura ruidosa. “Nijiriguchi” es un exquisito slow-core desplegando una atmósfera elegante y austera. “Okurirei” con su aire melancólico y líneas ambientales, cierra un álbum delicado, emotivo y evocador de bellos paisajes sonoros.

Illuha was originally a duo made up of Tomoyoshi Date and Corey Fuller, who have been active since 2011. In 2023 they become a trio with the addition of drummer Tatsuhisa Yamamoto.

Date has released several albums who has worked with Federico Durand as Melodía, Ken Ikeda, Toshimaru Nakamura, to name a few. Corey Fuller is an experimental electronic musician active since 2004, who has worked with Greg Davis, Chihei Hatakeyama, Richard Skelton, among other artists. Meanwhile, Tatsuhisa Yamamoto began producing his own music in 2009, collaborating with Jim O'Rourke, Eiko Ishibashi, Keiji Haino, Phew, Oren Ambarchi, among others.

“Tobira” are six ambient pieces inlaid with electroacoustic techniques. It starts with “Mukaemizu” where the wavery sounds that swarm in the space and the piano phrases are complemented by the soft hits and almost frictions of the bass drum and cymbals that wander with the random rhythms in a context of improvisation. “Tsukubai” navigates through clouds of synthesizers, while Yamamoto rubs the drums with his pens, revealing a noisy texture. “Nijiriguchi” is an exquisite slow-core displaying an elegant and austere atmosphere. “Okurirei” with its melancholic air and ambient lines, closes a delicate, moving and evocative album of beautiful soundscapes.
