En los últimos quince años la compositora, productora y DJ de música electrónica de origen ruso afincada en Francia, ha publicado 24 discos en sellos como Fullpanda Records, Sonic Groove y Raster-Media, entre otros. Dasha dirige su sello Fullpanda y el subsello experimental Hunger to Create. 

Su práctica musical se plasma en las  presentaciones audiovisuales en vivo, combinando el lenguaje y la poesía. Posee varios proyectos en los que despliega música electrónica en sus distintas variantes como LADA junto a  Lars Hemmerling, basado en la improvisación y actuación en vivo; ADD, una banda techno en vivo junto a AnD y InDASH, set de techno/electronic body music con sabor industrial. 

En su interés de ampliar su práctica musical, Dasha forma parte del consejo curatorial del Instituto Spacial Sound en Budapest, donde se realiza un nuevo desarrollo y experimentación con tecnología de sonido espacial, denominada 4DSOUND, la que abre nuevas posibilidades para crear, interpretar y experimentar el sonido espacialmente.

Rush tiene un especial interés por conocer otras culturas lo que la ha llevado a viajar a distintas partes del mundo. 

“Contemplating” muestra una exquisita combinación de techno-ambient que posee sutiles pulsaciones rítmicas generando atmósferas inquietantes con la tensión a medio camino entre los ambientes pasivos y aquellos con beat galopante, sin embargo dicha tensión termina disolviéndose. La apertura del álbum con “Joy 100” donde se aprecia un texto que está entrecortado y fragmentado. “Light and Dust” se desenvuelve en un ambient plácido que incluye voces que se disipan, mientras que “Morphingeist” explora territorios más sombríos en donde emergen pads expectantes. “Hans Rivers” posee un drone como telón de fondo en donde voces espectrales se funden en un arpegio sintetizado, antesala de “Dubby Doo” que expone fragmentos de poesía en idioma ruso, junto a conjunto de notas trepidantes que también viajan por los corredores cósmicos de “Summer Photons”. “LoveX” denota un entorno más íntimo, con pequeños ruidos cercanos, junto al canto de pájaros y glitches. “Autumn Rivers” posee pulsaciones rítmicas y sintetizadores aéreos.

“Trumpets of Andromeda”, que también es un sencillo, es un viaje a través de melodías y edificantes que resultan ciertamente conmovedoras.

Dasha Rush entrega un álbum intrigante, plácido, inmersivo y con un ritmo hipnótico. “Contemplative” es uno de los mejores álbumes de electrónica de este año.

Over the past 15 years electronic music composer, producer and DJ Russian native based in France, has released 24 albums on labels such as Fullpanda Records, Sonic Groove and Raster-Media, among others. Dasha runs her label Fullpanda and experimental sub-label Hunger to Create.

Her musical practice is reflected in live audiovisual performances, combining language and poetry. She has several projects in which she deploys electronic music in different subgenres such as LADA, together with Lars Hemmerling, which is based on improvisation and live performance; ADD, a live techno band alongside AnD and, InDASH, a techno/electronic body music outfit tinged industrial.

In her interest to expand her musical practice, Dasha is part of the curatorial board of the Spacial Sound Institute in Budapest, exploring new development and experimentation with the spatial sound technology, 4DSOUND, which opens new possibilities for creating, performing and experimenting sound spatially.

She’s interested in learning about cultures which has led her to travel to around the world. 

“Contemplating” shows an exquisite combination of techno-ambient that has subtle rhythmic pulsations generating disquieting atmospheres with tension halfway between passive environments and galloping beat that can emerge at any moment, however this tension ends up dissolving. The opening of the album with “Joy 100” it can be listen a text that is choppy and fragmented. “Light and Dust” unfolds in a placid ambient that includes dissipating vocals, while “Morphingeist” explores darker territories where expectant synth pads emerge. “Hans Rivers” has a drone as a backdrop where spectral voices merge into a synthesized arpeggio, a prelude to “Dubby Doo” that exposes fragments of poetry in the Russian language, along with a set of frenetic notes that also travel through cosmic corridors on “Summer Photons”. “LoveX” denotes a more intimate environment, with small noises nearby, along with birdsong and glitches. “Autumn Rivers” has rhythmic pulses and airy synths.

“Trumpets of Andromeda”, which is also a single, is a journey through uplifting melodies that feel certainly poignant.

Dasha Rush delivers an intriguing, placid, immersive album with a hypnotic rhythm. “Contemplative” is one of the best electronic albums of the year.
