Wil Bolton es un músico afincado en Londres quien tiene una discografía de más de 35 discos publicados en solitario o en colaboración con otros artistas como Ian Hawgood (director del fino sello ambient, Home Normal), Francis Gri y Joseph Auer.

Bolton utiliza guitarras, instrumentos acústicos, teclados antiguos y efectos para crear una música cálida e hipnótica en la que intervienen sonidos del ambiente cercanos al legendario estudio EMS (Elektronmusikstudion) en Estocolmo.

“Södermalm In Autumn” y “Red to Orange, Blue to Black” son el resultado de la segunda residencia artística que realizó durante dos semanas en el EMS, en Estocolmo, utilizando sus sintetizadores modulares clásicos Buchla y Serge. Ambos discos fueron editados en Home Normal. 

“Södermalm In Autumn” es un disco consistente en cuatro pistas de largo desarrollo en las que se despliegan secuencias que se envuelven en una infinidad de bellos tonos creados en la configuración de parches, junto a drones y glitches que salpican a lo largo de los cuatro tracks. 

Wil Bolton muestra su habilidad para realizar un trabajo con una delicada parsimonia, donde los sonidos se expanden construyendo ambiente acogedor e inmersivo.

Wil Bolton is a London-based musician who holds a discography of over 35 albums released solo, or in collaboration with other artists such as Ian Hawgood (run the fine ambient Home Normal label), Francis Gri and Joseph Auer.

Bolton uses guitars, acoustic instruments, vintage keyboards and effects to create warm, hypnotic music involving ambient sounds.

“Södermalm In Autumn” and “Red to Orange, Blue to Black” are the result of the second artistic residency he held for two weeks at the legendary EMS (Elektronmusikstudion) in Stockholm, using their classic Buchla and Serge modular synthesizers. Both albums are released on Home Normal.

“Södermalm In Autumn” is an album consisting of four long-form tracks in which sequences are wrapped in a myriad of beautiful tones created in the configuration of patches, along with drones and glitches that splash throughout the four tracks.

Wil Bolton deftly carry out work with delicate parsimony, where sounds expand, building a cozy and immersive atmosphere.
