El músico y diseñador gráfico de Baviera Markus Guentner, es uno de los máximos exponentes de ambient y minimalismo, cuya trayectoria musical tiene más de 20 años. Cuenta con una discografía de más de diez discos editados en los sellos Kompakt, Sending Orbs, Moodgadget y Affin. Creador del estilo “Pop Ambient” que ha sido difundido a través de las compilaciones del mismo nombre publicadas en Kompakt, etiqueta que ha dado a conocer a un importante camada de artistas internacionales. 

DJ, diseñador sonoro y propietario del sello Affin, Joachim Spieth comenzó a publicar su música a partir de 1999 en el distinguido sello Kompakt de Colonia y desde entonces ha publicado al menos 40 lanzamientos en Onitor, Auftrieb y en su propio Affin.

A finales de la década de 2000 fundó su propio sello Affin que ya celebra 15 años de existencia, cuyo roster se compone de bvdub, Warmth, Markus Guentner, Simone Giudice, entre otros artistas

En 2000, Guentner y Spieth se conocieron cuando recién fueron fichados por el sello Kompakt y el single "Prologue" marca el comienzo de un trabajo colaborativo y que viene a ser un adelanto de su álbum “Overlay” que saldrá en Affin en noviembre próximo.

Guentner y Spieth tienen como sello distintivo una música expansiva que la componen gruesas capas de notas sintetizadas ambientales que se sumergen en lo profundo sintiendo esa resonancia estremecedora que se siente muy conmovedora. “Prologue” podría ser la música ambiente que pudiéramos escuchar cuando caminamos, cogemos el trasporte público, hacemos las tareas cotidianas; la banda sonora del día a día en la que estaríamos inmersos en esos drones interminables y melodías edificantes.

The Bavarian musician and graphic designer Markus Guentner is one of the greatest exponents of ambient and minimalism, whose musical background spans over 20 years. He has a discography of over ten albums released on Kompakt, Sending Orbs, Moodgadget and Affin labels. He is the creator of the “Pop Ambient” subgenre that has been spread through the compilations of the same name published on Kompakt, a label with roster of renown international artists.

DJ, sound designer and owner of the Affin label, Joachim Spieth, began releasing his music in 1999 on the legendary Kompakt label in Cologne releasing at least 40 releases on Onitor, Auftrieb and in his own Affin.

At the end of the 00s he founded his own label Affin, which is already celebrating 15 years of existence, whose roster includes bvdub, Warmth, Markus Guentner, Simone Giudice, among other artists.

In 2000, Guentner and Spieth first met when they were just signed by the Kompakt label, and the single “Prologue”, marks the beginning of a collaborative work which is a preview of their upcoming album “Overlay”, that will be released on Affin next November.

Guentner and Spieth's hallmark is expansive music that is made up of thick layers of ambient synthesized notes that dive deep; feeling that shuddering resonance that feels poignant. “Prologue” could be the ambient music that we could listen to when we walk, take public transportation, do daily tasks; the soundtrack of everyday life in which we would be immersed in those endless drones and uplifting melodies.
