Tørrfall es un grupo noruego afincado en Stavanger y que lo componen Nils Erga, en viola; Kristoffer Riis en guitarra y Thore Warland en batería, quienes son miembros de las bandas Noxagt, Golden Oriole, Staer y Burning Axis.

El trío está activo desde 2000 con una producción discográfica de quince discos entre álbumes, EP’s y sencillos.

Su álbum homónimo fue grabado en vivo en agosto de 2021 y editado en vinilo en septiembre de 2022. La música en “Tørrfall” ofrece drones expansivos que crean una atmósfera inquietante y al mismo tiempo seductora pues permite imaginar un paisaje sonoro cubierto de imágenes tenues y oscuras. La filuda guitarra que abre este disco con “Tørrfall”, produce un sonido agudo y agonizante que permanece en toda la canción bajo pedales de efectos. “Baskerland”, junto a las pulsaciones graves y ritmo con bordes motorik, la distorsión de la guitarra se extiende hacia un horizonte rosado por el ocaso del día. “Du hviler ved din mors bryst” despliega una psicodelia onírica junto al eco de una voz moribunda y distante que parece un cántico a algo sagrado. En “Jeg vaker i ørkenen” la viola inicia un diálogo con la batería que ofrece un ritmo incesante, mientras como telón de fondo la guitarra ofrece una línea ambiental que también se produce en la primera canción del disco, como si fuera un loop, donde no hay comienzo ni final. Afortunadamente entonces esto nos permite seguir disfrutando de este viaje.

Tørrfall is a Norwegian group based in Stavanger and made up of Nils Erga, on viola; Kristoffer Riis on guitar and Thore Warland on drums, who are members of the bands Noxagt, Golden Oriole, Staer and Burning Axis.

The trio has been active since 2000 with a record production of fifteen records including albums, EP's and singles.

Their self-titled album was recorded live in August 2021 and released on vinyl in September 2022. The music on “Tørrfall” offers expansive drones that create a haunting and seductive atmosphere, allowing one to imagine a soundscape covered in dim, dark images. The abrasive guitar that opens this record with “Tørrfall” produces a sharp, dying sound that lingers throughout the song under pedals effects. “Baskerland”, along with the bass pulsations and rhythm with motorik edges, the guitar distortion stretches towards a rosy horizon by the sunset of the day. “Du hviler ved din mors bryst” displays a dreamlike psychedelia along with the echo of a dying and distant voice that seems like a chant to something sacred. On “Jeg vaker i ørkenen” the viola initiates a dialogue with the drums that offers an incessant rhythm, while as a background the guitar offers an ambient line that also occurs in the first song on the album, as if it were a loop, where there is no beginning or end. Fortunately, then this allows us to continue enjoying this trip.
