Corin Ileto aka CORIN es una productora, compositora e intérprete filipina-australiana que trabaja en artes escénicas, diseño de sonido, teatro y espacios de clubes.

Ella creció tocando piano clásico y estudiándolo, sin embargo, su interés en la música electrónica surgió escuchando el álbum colaborativo de Alva Noto y Ryuichi Sakamoto 'Insen' (2005). Según comenta en una entrevista en el sitio “15 Questions”: “Me atrajo la forma en que se samplearon, modificaron y manipularon las grabaciones de piano…”

La música de Corin se basa en samples, el diseño de sonido y la técnica de síntesis granular y la espacialidad. Ella explica: “Este enfoque lejos de actuar usando el teclado y mi relación corporal con un instrumento; un enfoque en la espacialidad y la idea de cuerpos de sonido moviéndose dentro del espacio, ha cambiado profundamente mi forma de pensar sobre la música”.

Usando la síntesis granular permite modificar y transformar los samples, retorciendo su sonidos, creando líneas amorfas, acuosas, oscuras y futuristas que se develan en las visuales del diseñador de video Tristan Jalleh. 

“Lux Aeterna”, publicado en UIQ, sello del renombrado músico electrónico Lee Gamble, contiene nueve tracks que viajan por un mundo imaginario que bien podría tratarse de la banda sonora de alguna película de ciencia ficción. Con pasajes ambientales como en “illumina” en el que emergen una pocas notas de piano y otros, orientados hacia el espacio de clubes (“Sunta, “vīsiōnem”, “Extasis”). “Arx” configura una estrategia oblicua con sus breaks entrecortados. “Lux aeterna” sorprende por sus samples de canto angelical manipulados que conservan su aura angelical, mientras las oscuras líneas sintéticas se retuercen y se expanden. 

Corin Ileto nos invita a un viaje de ensueño que transforma sus formas constantemente, donde tanto podemos levitar como suspenderse en el espacio infinito.

Corin Ileto aka CORIN is a Filipina-Australian producer, songwriter and performer working in performance arts, sound design, theater and club spaces.

She grew up playing classical piano and studying it, however, her interest in electronic music was sparked by listening to Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto's collaborative album 'Insen' (2005). She comments in an interview on "15 Questions" site: “I was drawn to the way in which the piano recordings were sampled, glitched and manipulated...”

Corin's music is based on samples, sound design and granular synthesis technology and spatiality. She explains: “This focus away from performing using the keyboard and my bodily relationship to an instrument, to now a focus on spatiality and the idea of bodies of sound moving within space has profoundly changed the way I think about music.”

Using granular synthesis allows to modify and transform samples, twisting their sounds, creating amorphous, watery, dark and futuristic lines that are unveiled in the visuals of video designer Tristan Jalleh.

“Lux Aeterna”, published on UIQ, the label of renowned electronic musician Lee Gamble, contains nine tracks that travel through an imaginary world that could well be the soundtrack of a science fiction movie. With ambient passages like on “illumina” in which a few piano notes emerge. On the other hand, tracks oriented towards the club space (“Sunta, “vīsiōnem”, “Ecstasy”). “Arx” sets up an oblique strategy with its choppy breaks. Whereas “Lux aeterna” amazes with its manipulated singing samples that retain their angelical aura, while the dark synthetic lines twist and expand.

Corin Ileto invites the listener on a dream journey that constantly transforms its forms, where it can both levitate and suspend itself in infinite space.
