BULBUL de Austria se formó inicialmente en 1996 por el vocalista y guitarrista Raumschiff Engelmayr al que luego se le unen Derhunt en bajo y voz y Ddkern en batería y voz, conformando así en un trío de noise-rock.

“Silence” es el décimo álbum de estudio de la banda. 

BULBUL tiene inclinación por lo excéntrico y bizarro desplegando un rock experimental con buenas dosis de distorsión y ruido, a través de pedales y efectos con los que realizan potentes descargas eléctricas que no lindan con el caos, permaneciendo cierta estructura que evoca algunos pasajes del trío de doom metal Om. El primer track que abre el disco (no llevan títulos, sino que sólo líneas continuas) los golpes sincopados a la batería están acompañados por pesadas líneas de bajo, en tanto que en la pista 2, el bajo trepidante y algunas esquirlas de la guitarra dejan un espacio vacío para que un golpe seco y abismal caiga con fuerza en la profundidad de un pozo oscuro. En el tercer corte, Engelmayr rasga las cuerdas de la guitarra con fuerza para producir un chirrido estridente como si fuera una voz desgarradora, en tanto que en el cuarto track, las cuerdas parecen que fueran metales retorciéndose, mientras las pulsaciones vacilantes de los efectos de la guitarra generan una tensión ambiente que continúan vacilantes en la quinta pista. En el sexto track la guitarra arremete con pesados y profundos riffs que contonean en tonos armónicos sombríos. Para finalizar con el track 7, la banda continua experimentando con la guitarra, además del traqueteo de objetos metálicos.

BULBUL despliega un rock oscuro e inquietante agregando dosis de doom, electricidad, ritmos arrastrados y constantes bajos saturados y guitarras afiladas.

BULBUL from Austria was initially formed in 1996 by vocalist and guitarist Raumschiff Engelmayr who was later joined by Derhunt on bass and vocals and Ddkern on drums and vocals, thus forming a noise-rock trio from Austria.

"Silence" is the band's tenth studio album.

BULBUL has an inclination for the eccentric and bizarre, displaying an experimental rock with a good dose of distortion and noise, through pedals and effects with which they perform powerful electric discharges that do not border on chaos, remaining a certain structure that evokes some passages of the Om doom metal trio. The first track that opens the album (with no titles, just continuous lines) the syncopated beats to the drums are accompanied by heavy bass lines, while on track 2, the fast-paced bass and some guitar splinters leave an empty space for an abysmal thud to fall hard into the depths of a dark pit. On the third track, Engelmayr rips hard the guitar strings to produce a shrill screeching sound like a harrowing voice, while on the fourth track, the strings seem like writhing metal, while the hesitant pulsations of the guitar effects generates an environmental tension that continues to falter on the fifth track. On the sixth track the guitar lashes out with heavy, deep riffs that waddle in somber harmonic tones. Finally, on track 7 the band continues experimenting with the guitar, as well as a rattling of metallic objects.

BULBUL deploys a dark and haunting rock adding doses of doom, electricity, crawling rhythms and constant saturated bass and sharp guitars.
