El compositor y pianista francés Sylvain Texier aka Ô Lake lanza su segundo y nuevo álbum "Still" a través del sello Patchwork. Este es su décimo tercer disco en su carrera en solitario que comienza en 2017 con su proyecto neoclásico Ô Lake, luego de tocar en importantes festivales con su banda de electrónica / post-rock, Fragments.

“Still” fue compuesto y producido por Sylvain Texier aka Ô Lake, quien toca el piano, teclados, programación, bajo, batería y los arreglos orquestales fueron estuvieron a cargo de Sylvain Texier y Ronan Maillard. La grabación se realizó con una orquesta de cuerdas de 40 músicos.

Este disco comienza con “Everest” que muestra una bella nota sintetizada, acompañada por una sesión de violines. El ambiente es inspirador y estimulante. En “Night moves” los violines danzan mientras un delicado piano despliega un estribillo. En la medida que se desarrolla esta pieza, emerge un crescendo inspirador y ensalzado con los golpes de una batería. “Innocence”, una pieza de un solo de piano se esparce con gracia y sutileza. “Avalanche” tiene una fuerza épica impulsada por las notas arpegiadas del sintetizador. Aquí los violines, el piano, la batería encumbran esta pieza por todo lo alto. “December 30th” la lánguida sesión de violines se mueve con prestancia, en tanto que “Funeral” (que Texier dedica a su Padre fallecido) es una pieza sobriedad que se siente sumamente emotiva. En “Here” los potentes golpes a la batería y fraseos del sintetizador también alcanza un crescendo notable e vivificante. “Distance” muestra un bello diálogo de melodías entre el piano y el sintetizador que luego es acompañado por finos violines. “Motions” es una pieza con una mayor rítmica que cierra un álbum que evoca bellas imágenes y paisajes.

The French composer and pianist Sylvain Texier aka Ô Lake releases his second and new album "Still" through the Patchwork label. This is his thirteenth album in his solo career which began in 2017 with his neoclassical project Ô Lake, after playing major festivals with his electronic/post-rock band, Fragments.

“Still” was composed and produced by Sylvain Texier who plays the piano, keyboards, programming, bass, drums, and the orchestral arrangements were made by Sylvain Texier and Ronan Maillard. The recording was made with a 40-piece string orchestra.

This album begins with "Everest" which shows a beautiful synthesized, accompanied by a violin session. The atmosphere is inspiring and stimulating. On “Night moves” the violins dance while a delicate piano refrain unfurls. As this piece progresses, an inspiring crescendo emerges extolled by the hits on the drums. “Innocence,” a one-piano solo piece, spreads gracefully and subtly, whereas “Avalanche” has an epic force driven by the arpeggiated synth notes. Here the violins, the piano and the drums exalt this piece with style. “December 30th” a languerous violin session moves with ease, while “Funeral” (which Texier dedicates to his late Father) is a spare piece that feels highly emotional. On “Here” the powerful drumming and synth phrasing also reaches a remarkable and exhilarating crescendo. “Distance” shows a beautiful dialogue of melodies between the piano and the synthesizer that is later accompanied by fine violins. “Motions” is a more rhythmic piece that closes an album that evokes beautiful images and landscapes.
