Joachim Spieth es un DJ, diseñador sonoro y dueño del sello Affin, quien comenzó a publicar su música a fines de la década de 1990 en el distinguido sello Kompakt de Colonia, creadores de la famosa serie de compilados “Pop Ambient”.

A finales de la década de 2000 fundó su propio sello Affin que ya celebra 15 años de existencia, cuyo roster se compone entre otros artistas de bvdub, Warmth, Markus Guentner, Simone Giudice, zakè and Głós y ASC.

Spieth tiene desde 1999 al menos 40 lanzamientos en varios sellos como Kompakt, Onitor, Auftrieb y en su propio Affin.

“Terrain” es el cuarto LP en su sello Affin que comprende ocho tracks que invitan al oyente a un viaje por las tranquilas aguas del ambient enraizado en la electrónica y la música minimalista. Las líneas ambientales y las suaves texturas electrónicas son parte de la característica orgánica de la música de Spieth. “Terrain 1” que abre el álbum cierne una atmósfera inquietante que flota por el espacio que acompañada por finos toques de lo que parece ser una cuerda, dándole un tono melódica. En sigilo surge “Terrain 2”con sutiles bordes oscuros, en tanto que “Terrain 3” continua con este halo de oscuridad que desaparece en “Terrain 4” que tiene un carácter solemne. En “Terrain 5” asoman entre los espacios ambientales, etéreos pulsos rítmicos que van marcando un solapado beat. “Terrain 6” expande su aura por territorios desconocidos en este viaje, en tanto “Terrain 7” comienza con un silbido atmosférico de sintetizador que se desvanece hacia el final de este track. Cerrando este álbum con “Terrain 8”, Spieth pulsa tonos graves casi imperceptibles, junto a unas texturas que se sienten arenosas como si encontraran en algún lugar lejano.

Joachim Spieth propone ambientes delicados que crean pasajes sonoros que estimulan la imaginación en un viaje sin retorno.

Joachim Spieth is a DJ, sound designer and Affin label owner who started releasing his music in the late 1990s on the renown Kompakt label in Cologne, creators of the famous “Pop Ambient” compilation series.

At the end of the 2000s he founded his own label Affin, which is already celebrating 15 years of existence, whith a roster that includes among other artists, Warmth, Markus Guentner, Simone Giudice, zakè and Głós and ASC.

Spieth has at least 40 releases on various labels such as Kompakt, Onitor, Auftrieb and in his own Affin.

“Terrain” is the fourth LP on the Affin imprint that comprises eight tracks that invite the listener on a journey through the calm waters of ambient rooted in electronica and minimalist music. Ambient lines and smooth electronic textures are part of the organic character of Spieth's music. "Terrain 1" that opens the album hovers an eerie atmosphere that floats through the space, accompanied by fine touches of what seems to be a string, giving it a melodic tone. In stealth, "Terrain 2" emerges with subtle dark edges, while "Terrain 3" continues with this halo of darkness that disappears in "Terrain 4", which has a solemn character. In “Terrain 5” ethereal rhythmic pulses appear among the ambient spaces, marking an overlapping beat. “Terrain 6” expands its aura into uncharted territories on this journey, while “Terrain 7” begins with an atmospheric whoosh of synthesizer that fades towards the end of this track. Rounding off the album with “Terrain 8”, Spieth pulses almost imperceptible bass tones, along with textures that feel gritty as if found somewhere far away.

Joachim Spieth proposes delicate environments creating soundscapes that stimulate the imagination on a journey of no return.
