Sähkökitarakvartetti, que significa cuarteto de guitarra eléctrica presenta las composiciones de la española Clara de Asís, Marja Ahti de Finlandia y el guitarrista finlandés Lauri Hyvärinen. 

Este ensamble de música contemporánea que se fundó en 2017, publica su segundo álbum "//" después de su disco debut homónimo, en el que exploran las posibilidades de la afinaciones microtonales. 

Este disco consiste en tres largas piezas donde el silencio es un elemento omnipresente, junto a las afinaciones a las guitarras que toman forma de un drone, producido por el dispositivo electrónico EBow. La primera pieza “The Threshold”, compuesta por Marja Ahti. Las notas vacilantes y los breves acordes ponen la nota inquietante, generando cierta expectación por el desarrolla del track. “Tropes”, compuesta por Lauri Hyvärinen propone un lenguaje abstracto iniciando un viaje en espirales hasta que Lauri le da un suave golpe a la guitarra generando resonancia envolvente, lo que marca el desarrollo de esporádicos punteos a algunas cuerdas y con ello una densa atmósfera. “Everyday less, less everyday”, compuesta por Clara de Asís donde los punteos son sutiles, los intervalos de silencio menos frecuentes, junto a unas notas que tintinean como campanillas, mientras en el fondo se produce un zumbido de tonos graves, para que Clara luego comience a tocar algunas cuerdas que reverberan en el espacio.

Sähkökitarakvartetti desarrolla en un ambiente minimalista un trabajo pulcro, nítido, sutil y por sobre todo experimental que desafía los límites exteriores.

Sähkökitarakvartetti, which means electric guitar quartet, presents the compositions of Clara de Asís from Spain, Marja Ahti from Finland and Finnish guitarist Lauri Hyvärinen.

This contemporary music ensemble that was founded in 2017, publishes its second album "//", after its self-titled debut album, in which they explore the possibilities of microtonal tunings.

This album consists of three longform pieces where silence is an omnipresent element, along with guitar tunings that take the form of a drone, produced by the electronic device EBow. The first piece “The Threshold”, composed by Marja Ahti. The hesitant notes and the tiny chords put the disturbing note, generating some expectation for the development of the track. “Tropes”, composed by Lauri Hyvärinen unfolds an abstract language creating a spiral journey until Lauri gently hits the guitar generating enveloping resonance, that marks the development of sporadic plucking on some strings within a dense atmosphere. “Everyday less, less everyday”, composed by Clara de Asís where the plucking is subtle, the intervals of silence are less frequent, together with some notes that tinkle like bells, while in the background there is a buzz of low tones. Clara starts playing some single strings that reverberate in space.

Sähkökitarakvartetti unfurls in a minimalist environment a neat, pristine, subtle and above all experimental work that defies the outer limits.
