Katharina Nuttall | 'The Garden' | Novoton | 2022

Octubre 2022

Following the third single 'The Poison Tree', recently released by Swedish Novoton label, comes the album 'The Garden' by Stockholm-based Norwegian artist, songwriter, music producer and multi-instrumentalist Katharina Nuttall, who composes sound for feature films, documentaries, television and short films. Her music covers genres such as art-rock, synth-pop, with approaches to post-punk.

One of the gems of this album 'Talk to silence' is poignant, Katharina speaks that between acceptance and protection, between insistence and subjection, between desire and acceptance, between sadness and resurrection... she talks with the shadows, with angels, with silence... There are two forces that oppose each other but in the end manages to connect with the divine. It is followed by 'Inspired by John Keats', the album's first single, another gem, whose heavenly and sweetened choir of female voices lifts the listener to the top. 'Deep Blue' which features the Swedish band, The Hanged Man with their guitar riffs, has a strong post-punk accent. 'The trees of green' is another great elegant and inspiring synth-pop song that comes close at times to Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark or Ultravox as does (fortunately) “Forever Stay”, a romantic song that closes this beautiful album.

Katharina with 'The Garden' gives uplifting streams of songs that come to put the share of hope in a world in turmoil.
