El compositor y multiinstrumentista italiano Bruno Bavota y la compositora holandesa Chantal Acda vienen trabajando juntos desde algunos años. 

Acda tiene una veintena de discos publicados la mayoría de ellos en solitario, mientras que Bavota tiene una quincena de discos editados.

Dada la pandemia, las nueve canciones que componen “A Closer Distance” fueron escritas y grabadas por Bavota y Acda en sus respectivos hogares. No obstante la afinidad musical entre ambos y su fuerte conexión con el folk y la música neoclásica, hacen de ”A Closer Distance”, un álbum íntimo que se siente hondamente conmovedor. Las delicadas notas de piano de Bavota acompañan los acordes de guitarra, junto a la angelical voz de Acda. 

La parsimonia y la elegancia en cada una de las canciones le dan solidez al disco, como el coro estremecedor en “Days Like These”, las sublimes melodías del single “Still I”, el romanticismo sublime de “Lullaby For Loved Ones” o el maravilloso pop onírico de la apertura con “Connecting Dots”.

The Italian composer and multi-instrumentalist Bruno Bavota and the Dutch composer Chantal Acda have been working together for some years.

Acda has released twenty albums, most of them solo, while Bavota has released fifteen albums.

Given the pandemic, the nine songs that make up “A Closer Distance” were written and recorded by Bavota and Acda in their respective homes. Yet the musical affinity between the two and their strong connection to folk and neoclassical music make ”A Closer Distance” an intimate album that feels deeply poignant. Bavota's delicate piano notes accompany the guitar chords, along with Acda's angelical voice.

The parsimony and elegance in each of the songs give solidity to the album, such as the dream-like choir in "Days Like These", the beautiful melodies of the single "Still I", the sublime romanticism of "Lullaby For Loved Ones" or the wonderful dreamy pop of the opener with “Connecting Dots”.
