La fina casa disquera francesa IIKKI (subsello de Eilean Rec.) editó recientemente este disco que, como es propio de IIKKI comprende la música de un artista que en este caso es el norteamericano Dayve Samek alias Trance Farmers y la fotógrafa canadiense Kourtney Roy. Tanto el disco como el libro de fotografías pueden escucharse y leerse por separado o en conjunto. 

Dayve Samek es un crooner quien vive entre Los Ángeles y Luisiana y posee una discografía de 9 discos. El disco que hoy nos ocupa mezcla rhythm and blues, easy listening, exotica, rock de los ‘50/60 y flirteos dub.

Kourtney Roy, quien vive y trabaja en París, ha presentado sus fotografías en varios festivales y galería en China, Francia, Suiza, Canadá, Estados Unidos, Australia, España y Moscú. También trabaja como fotógrafa/cineasta independiente. Su estética cuidada y elegante evoca los ’50, con una aire cinematográfico y siendo ella misma sujeta de su trabajo quien aparece en las fotografías. 

La música de Samek que evoca las películas de David Lynch. Aunque el dub sublime de “Dusty Tesla” remonta a una época más reciente que recuerda a Primal Scream. Samek realiza una combinación perfecta de guitarra, voz envolvente y baterías programables.

En “Queen Of Nowhere” podemos encontrarnos con distintas épocas y disfrutar de los recuerdos que evocan.

The fine French record imprint IIKKI (sublabel of Eilean Rec.) recently released this album which includes the music of an artist who in this case is the North American Dayve Samek aka Trance Farmers and the Canadian photographer Kourtney Roy. Both the disc and the photo book can be listened to and read separately or together.

Dayve Samek is a crooner who lives between Los Angeles and Louisiana and has under his belt nine releases. The album that concerns us today is a perfect blend of rhythm and blues, easy listening, exotica, rock from the '50s/60s and dub flirtations.

Kourtney Roy, who lives and works in Paris, has presented her photographs at various festivals and galleries in China, France, Switzerland, Canada, the United States, Australia, Spain, and Moscow. She also works as a freelance photographer/filmmaker. Her careful and elegant aesthetic evokes the '50s, with a cinematographic stance and being herself the subject of her work, appearing in the photographs.

Samek's music evoking David Lynch movies. Although the sublime dub of 'Dusty Tesla' harks back to a more recent era reminiscent of Primal Scream. Samek performs a perfect combination of guitar, enveloping vocals and drum machine.

In 'Queen Of Nowhere' we can meet different eras and enjoy the memories they evoke.
