El EP "Watch and Pray" es la continuación de "My Only Treasure" (Jivvär Records, 2022) y de su anterior álbum “My Face Will Shine” (Jivvär Records, 2020), del artista, performista y productor sueco David Åhlén, quien toca los sintetizadores, la guitarra eléctrica y canta. Por cierto, la etiqueta sueca Jivvär Records también publica los discos de Joel Gabrielsson, cuya entrevista se puede encontrar en Loop.

Este EP que consiste en cinco canciones se inspira en la difícil experiencia de Åhlén de vivir la muerte de su madre y de su hermana y para canalizar esta experiencia, utiliza la oración cabalista judía, Yedid Nefish.

La música de nuestro protagonista es de una delicadeza insuperable, con su voz falsete, arrastrada y con sutiles tonos agudos, acompañada de líneas de teclado ambientales y suaves acordes de guitarra, teje canciones con melodías sublimes que imploran por la vida de sus seres queridos. 

David Åhlén transforma la fragilidad de sus canciones, en bellas texturas emotivas y conmovedoras.

The EP "Watch and Pray" is the follow-up to "My Only Treasure" (Jivvär Records, 2022) and the album “My Face Will Shine” (Jivvär Records, 2020), by Swedish artist, performer and producer David Åhlén, who plays synthesizers, electric guitar and sings. By the way, the Swedish label Jivvär Records also releases Joel Gabrielsson's records, whose interview can be found on Loop.

This EP that consist in five songs inspired by Åhlén's difficult experience of living his mother and sister death and to channel this experience, he uses the Jewish kabbalist prayer, Yedid Nefish.

The music of our protagonist is of unsurpassed delicacy, with his falsetto voice, slurred and with subtle high tones, accompanied by ambient keyboard lines and soft guitar chords, he craft songs with sublime melodies that implore for the lives of his loved ones.

David Åhlén transforms the fragility of his songs into gorgeous emotional and touching mood and textures.
