Konstrukt feat. Thurston Moore | "Turkish Belly" | Karlrecords | 2021
|

This album is a live performance in a concert hall in Istanbul, by the Turkish band Konstrukt and guitarist Thurstone Moore (ex-Sonic Youth). This is the fifth album in a series of collaborations for Karlrecords that this band has made with different avant-garde musicians in the likes of Joe McPhee, William Parker, Akira Sakata, Marshall Allen, Evan Parker, Alexander Hawkins, Ken Vandermark or Otomo Yoshihide.
This freeform group is comprised by Umut Çağlar: electric guitar, synthesizer; Apostolos Sideris: electric bass, upright bass Berkan Tilavel: drums y Thurston Moore: electric guitar. This free rock band exudes acid rock, psychedelia and free jazz.
Random drum beats, stuttering trumpet blasts, meandering and synth whips conspire to unleash the plucking and guitars riff, to unleash this sonic catharsis reminiscent of the blazing guitars of Makoto Kawabata and Richard Pinhas.
