La nueva reencarnación del grupo está conformada por Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane, Ulrich Schnauss. Todo el EP 'Probe 6-8' está basado en los archivos de 1977-2013 de Edgar Froese y todas las composiciones están inspiradas en los arreglos de Cubase de Froese y el archivo de cintas de Otari. Estas composiciones mantienen el sello de la música krautrock o Kosmische Musik por la que fue conocida la primera formación de TD, la que publicó más de 100 álbumes hasta ahora.

La marca registrada de TD de principios de los ’70 fue su secuenciador que permitía reunir a varios sintetizadores modulares análogos, característica que está recogida en este EP que arranca con “Raum”, un video en Super-8 del proceso de creación de la banda en su estudio Neukölln en Berlín. En “Para Guy” el violín de Hoshiko Yamane hace una simbiosis con los teclados ambientales. “Continum” por su parte toma la forma actual de una pieza de baile con su broken beat, mientras que en paralelo las secuencias toman también un mayor ritmo.

El lado B de este EP la pista “Raum” está remezclada por la compositora y productora Grand River que le da gran intensidad a esta pieza a partir del 2 minutos 30 segundos, acentuándose las notas graves de los sintetizadores. El segundo tema “Continuum”, fue remezclado por Sam Barker quien le da un carácter más ambient a esta pista.

"Probe 6-8" es el anticipo al próximo álbum del grupo de principios de 2022, el segundo álbum de estudio después del fallecimiento del fundador Edgar Froese.

The new reincarnation of the band is made up of Thorsten Quaeschning, Hoshiko Yamane, Ulrich Schnauss. The entire 'Probe 6-8' EP is based on Edgar Froese's 1977-2013 archives and all compositions are inspired by Froese's Cubase arrangements and Otari's tape archive. These compositions maintain the stamp of the krautrock or Kosmische Musik music for which the first TD line-up was known, who released more than 100 albums out so far.

TD's trademark from the early '70s was its sequencer that allowed several analog modular synthesizers to be brought together, a feature that is included in this EP that starts with "Raum", a Super-8 video of the creation process of the band at their Neukölln studio in Berlin. In “Para Guy” Hoshiko Yamane's violin makes a symbiosis with the ambient keyboards. “Continum” takes the current form of a dance piece with its broken beat, while in parallel the sequences also take a driving beat.

On the B side of this EP, the track “Raum” is remixed by composer and producer Grand River who gives from 2 minutes 30 seconds on, a great tension to this piece, accentuating the synthesizers’s bass notes. The second song "Continuum” was remixed by Sam Barker who gives a more ambient character to this track.

"Probe 6-8" is the prelude to the group's next album of early 2022, the second studio album after the passing of founder Edgar Froese.
