Guy Baron aka Semi Precious nació en Tel Aviv y reside en el sudeste de Londres donde co-fundó Squareglass para apoyar a los artistas de esa área de la capital inglesa y también fuera de ella. Realizó estudios musicales en la Universidad Goldsmiths donde se forjó la identidad musical como Semi Precious. La combinación del espíritu experimental y radical de Goldsmiths, junto con formar parte de una escena de variada riqueza musical, le dan a Baron amplitud de enfoques para abordar la dance music. Además, se desempeña como profesor de música y estudios de sonido.

Por cierto que adhiero a la descripción de la nota de prensa respecto de que a “Post Euphoria, el “crescendo nunca se resuelve”, dejando los sonidos "suspendidos y fragmentados”. Es probable que esto se deba a su interés por la música de Caterina Barbieri y Lorenzo Senni, con un enfoque más experimental. Y también me parece se debe a la madurez musical de Baron, que no obstante tener una aproximación pop a la hora de cantar, las notas de los teclados se vinculan directamente con la dance music, pero también toman formas ambientales creando una acogedora atmósfera, junto a la íntima y cálida voz de Baron.

Desde luego que es promisoria esta escena de artistas que incursionan dentro de la dance Music, entregando nuevas vetas y originalidad y marcando así un punto de inflexión en este género musical.

Guy Baron aka Semi Precious was born in Tel Aviv and resides in South East London where he co-founded Squareglass to support artists in that area of the English capital and beyond. He studied music at Goldsmiths University where he forged his musical identity as Semi Precious. The combination of Goldsmiths’ experimental and radical spirit, together with being part of a scene of varied musical richness, gives Baron a breadth of approaches to tackle dance music. In addition, he works as a music and sound studios teacher.

I adhere to the press release description about “Post Euphoria,”: “crescendo never resolves”, leaving the sounds“ suspended and fragmented. ”It is likely that this is due to his interest in the music of Caterina Barbieri and Lorenzo Senni, which have an experimental approach.
