Baraboro | "Coatlicue's dreams" | No Technique | 2021

Lithuanian Gintė Preisaitė a.k.a Baraboro is a Copenhagen, Denmark-based artist and singer who debuts on No Technique label with her album “Coatlicue’s dreams” which consists of eight electro-acoustic pieces.

Preisaitė plays piano, keyboards and electronic devices, as well as incorporating field recordings. The saxophone is played by Daniel Sousa and Michaela Turcerová.

"Sun and moon" the opener of this album is made up of different saxophone notes that are interspersed with each other, accompanied by some glitches and birdsong. "Spingsi" displays compressed sounds including piano and abstract combinations of synthesized vignettes. On “Swim” the melancholic voice of Preisaitė appears, conjuring-up landscapes of loneliness. "Its ok and it's not" its pulsing beats are appreciated under a song structure that borders on pop. While "Serpentine" moves calmly through the ambient waters.

The last track on this album, “See ya '” has an abstract language with jazzy overtones.

Our protagonist shows her own style, unclassifiable, playful and a certain simplicity that hides the density of her music.
