Erland Dahlen es un baterista y percusionista noruego que tiene una vasta experiencia tocando en diferentes bandas como OlsenBande, Stian Westerhus & Pale Horses, The Sonic Codex Orchestra, Madrugada y Xploding Plastix. También realiza su carrera en solitario. 

Para “Bones” – su cuarto disco en solitario – Dahlen toca tambores duco de oro negro Slingerland vintage, platillos, campanas de flores, campanas de mano, sierra musical, xilófono, tambores, gongs, canicas en placa de metal, tambor de marco, tambores de acero, toms de concierto, electrónica, cajas de ritmos, cajas de drones mellotron, el Moog de mi abuela, sintetizador modular, dulcimer, guitarras, voz y baquetas / mazos / arco sobre cítaras. Algunos de estos instrumentos hechos a medida para este álbum en el confluyen lo analógico y digital.

“Desert” que abre este disco saca a relucir las cristalinas guitarras, sinuoso sonido de la sierra musical en un ambiente pausado que me recuerda a una combinación entre And Also de Trees y Dif Juz. En “Wagen” se despliegan con elegancia las campanillas, voces distantes y las vibraciones inimitables de la sierra musical. Ello se acompaña por una instrumentación sobrecogedora que es capaz de llenar todo el espacio. La batería despliega sus alas en “Hunt” y comienza a volar alto con la vocalizaciones de Dahlen. “Swan” se arrastra sigilosamente en un dub ensoñador, en tanto que “Bones” que da título a este LP, muestra una sesión rítmica inquietante, junto a remolinos sintetizados que surcan por los escondites más recónditos. 

“Blind” que cierra este disco muestra una atmósfera transparente donde la percusión se muestra fresca y reluce ampliamente.

La variada percusión en este disco le da un rico matiz creando bellos paisajes sonoros.

Norwegian drummer and percussionist Erland Dahlen holds a vast experience playing in different bands such as OlsenBande, Stian Westerhus & Pale Horses, The Sonic Codex Orchestra, Madrugada and Xploding Plastix. He also pursues his solo career.

For “Bones” - his fourth solo album - Dahlen plays vintage Slingerland black gold duco drums, cymbells, blossom bells, hand bells, musical saw, xylophone, log drums, gongs, marbles on metal plate, frame drum, steel drums, concert toms, electronics, drum machines, drone boxes, mellotron, Moog grandmother, modular synth, dulcimer, guitars, vocal and sticks/mallets/bow on zithers. Some of these instruments made to measure for this album in which analog and digital converge.

“Desert” that opens this album brings out the crystalline guitars, sinuous sound of the musical sierra in a leisurely environment that reminds me of a combination between And Also de Trees and Dif Juz. In "Wagen" the bells, distant voices and the inimitable vibrations of the musical saw are elegantly displayed. This is accompanied by an overwhelming instrumentation that is capable of filling the entire space. The drums spread their wings on "Hunt" and began to fly high with Dahlen's vocalizations. “Swan” creeps into a dreamy dub, while “Bones”, which gives this LP its title, shows a haunting rhythmic session, along with synthesized eddies that plow through the most remote hiding places.

"Blind" that closes this album shows a transparent atmosphere where the percussion is fresh and shines widely.

The array of percussion on this record gives it a rich nuance creating beautiful soundscapes.
