En 1959, Dennis Johnson compuso la suite "November" que fue escrita sólo para piano. Johnson y La Monte Young eran estudiantes de música en la UCLA y esta obra inspiró fuertemente a Young cuando compuso "The Well-Tuned
Piano” en 1964. Young decía que Johnson era de los pocos que entendía su música.

“The Fall” es una deconstruction de “November” en la que participan el compositor el renombrado pianista clásico Nicolas Horvath y también el influyente artista británico Lustmord.

“The Fall” es una pieza de 66 minutos que consta de cuatro partes donde las sutiles y oscuras atmósferas de Lustmord se alternan con las notas minimalistas del pianos que se despliega elegantemente y al mismo tiempo con un alto grado de emocionalidad nostálgica.

En “The Fall IV”, la última pieza de este doble LP y CD, se asoman las líneas ambientales del sintetizador de Lustmord que estuvieron más solapadas en los otros tres tracks, dándole un carácter más enigmático.

En este bello disco ambos artistas logran interpretar con maestría y conservar la esencia de una composición austera y prístina.

In 1959, Dennis Johnson composed the suite "November" which was written solo for piano. Johnson and La Monte Young were music students at UCLA and this work strongly inspired Young when he composed "The Well-Tuned Piano" in 1964. Young said that Johnson was one of the few who understood his music.

"The Fall" is a deconstruction of "November" in which composer the renowned classical pianist Nicolas Horvath and the also influential British artist Lustmord collaborate.

"The Fall" is a 66-minute piece consisting of four parts where Lustmord’s subtle and dark atmospheres alternate with the minimalist piano notes that unfolds elegantly and at the same time with a high degree of nostalgic emotionality.

On “The Fall IV”, the last piece of this double LP and CD, Lustmord’s ambient synthesizer lines appear to be were more overlapped in the other three tracks, giving it a more enigmatic character.

In this beautiful album both artists manage to masterfully interpret and preserve the essence of an austere and pristine composition.
