La artista sonora canadiense nacida en Irak, Rita Mikhael, bajo el alias E-Saggila se mueve en los terrenos del techno, noise, gabber y breakcore. Su sonido es tanto orgánico como estructurado por sus patrones junto a una amalgama de sonidos retorcidos, ruidos y zonas ambientales.
Luego de escuchar punk, metal y música industrial, descubrió artistas como Coil y Godflesh y descargó Ableton, vio algunos tutoriales de YouTube y fue así como comenzó a hacer su propia música electrónica. También se perciben influencias del techno inteligente de Autechre y la Kosmiche Musik en temas como “9 Digest”. Se advierten también ritmos más duros como el gabber en “Mouth In Reach”.
Este es un álbum equilibrado, mientras los ritmos 4x4 están presentes también hay espacios ambientales tan exquisitos como en “For The Butterfly”.
La versatilidad que tiene E-Saggila para mezclar géneros en un mismo tema hace que se mantenga la tensión en sus canciones y por lo mismo la obviedad aquí no existe, sino que lo inesperado es la constante en este disco. Esto habla de creatividad de una joven que se abre paso en la música electrónica, fichando para un sello tan importante como Hospital Productions.

The Canadian sound artist born in Iraq, Rita Mikhael, under the moniker of E-Saggila moves in the fields of techno, noise, gabber and breakcore. Her sound is both organic and structured by its patterns together with an amalgam of twisted sounds, noises and ambient zones.
After listening to punk, metal, and industrial music, she discovered artists like Coil and Godflesh and downloaded Ableton, watched some YouTube tutorials, and began making her own electronic music. Smart techno influences from Autechre and Kosmiche Musik can also be seen on songs like “9 Digest”. There are also harder rhythms like the gabber on “Mouth In Reach”.
This is a balanced album while the 4x4 rhythms are present there are also ambient spaces as exquisite as on “For The Butterfly”.
The versatility that holds E-Saggila allow her to mix genres in the same song keeping the tension and therefore the obvious here does not exist, but the unexpected is the constant on this album. This speaks of the creativity of a young woman who makes her way into electronic music, signing for a label as important as Hospital Productions.
