Ohio es el proyecto de Taylor Deupree, artista y fundador del sello 12k y Corey Fuller, antiguo colaborador de Deupree y compañero de sello.
Este álbum tuvo como fuente de inspiración la canción "Ohio" del cantante y compositor Damien Jurado. Esto llevó al dúo a crear nuevas estructuras y con ello desafiaron el ambient plácido por el que son más conocidos, trabajando una versión más ralentizada de la canción “Ohio”, por lo que tocan guitarras acústicas y eléctricas, las voces, las armonías, la estructura de la canción centrada en el pop, las grabaciones de campo. Así expandieron su paleta de sonidos y matices, mostrando una nueva faceta.
Cuatro años trabajaron Deupree y Fuller compartiendo el tiempo de estudio entre Nueva York y Tokio, donde la mezcla se enriquece con sonidos que surgen espontáneamente como pequeños silencios, además de efectos de dispositivos electrónicos.
La música en "Upward, Broken, Always" es elegante y tiene una parsimonia que transporta al oyente a crear sus propias imágenes e historias.

Ohio is the project of Taylor Deupree, artist and founder of the 12k label and Corey Fuller, former Deupree collaborator and label partner.
This album was inspired by the song "Ohio" written by singer and songwriter Damien Jurado. This led the duo to create new structures and thereby challenged the placid ambient they are best known for, working a slow down version of the song "Ohio", so they play acoustic and electric guitars, vocals, harmonies, pop song structure and field recordings. Thus they expanded their palette of sounds and nuances, showing a new facet.
Four years took Deupree and Fuller for the making of this record, sharing the study time between New York and Tokyo, where the mix is enriched with sounds that arise spontaneously like small silences, as well as effects of electronic devices.
The music in "Upward, Broken, Always" is elegant and has a parsimony that transports the listener to create their own images and stories.
