Erik Griswold es un compositor y pianista de San Diego que trabaja hace dos décadas en la música contemporánea, improvisada y experimental. Se especializa en piano preparado, percusión y juguetes donde la sutileza de los timbres y melodías despliegan un sonido acústico refinado. Griswold se vió influenciado por el trabajo de la cineasta experimental australiana Louise Curham quien también realiza una variedad de preparaciones y técnicas ampliadas “Yokohama Flowers”, publicado el 2018 por el sello australiano Room40 consiste en 15 tracks entre 2 y 4 minutos realizados con mucha delicadeza, como si fueran artesanalmente. Su fragilidad y nostalgia que evoca la influencia oriental se contrasta con algunas notas graves de piano. Uno de las piezas notables es “Shinkansen” por la inquietante atmósfera que genera, en tanto que “Fallingwater” sus bellas melodías transportan al oyente a un plácido lugar donde todo está bien. Griswold was influenced by the work of Australian experimental filmmaker Louise Curham who also performs a variety of preparations and expanded techniques "Yokohama Flowers", published in 2018 by the Australian label Room40, consists of 15 tracks between 2 and 4 minutes performed with great delicacy, as if they were handmade.
