El músico y compositor canadiense Aidan Baker aka Najda afincado en Berlín y la artista belga Karen Willems sacan su tercer album después de Nonland (2017) y “Landlos” (2017). “Awel” es una presentación en vivo en la iglesia Christuskirche en Bochum, Alemania, en el marco del Moving Noises Festival en 2017. Baker toca la guitarras y Karen Willems la percusión. Son cinco tracks (“Awel I” a “Awel V”) que se desarrollan como un set de improvisación, donde Baker con su guitarra despliega efectos y drones que eternizan las notas dejándolas suspendidas por varios minutos. Junto a una percusión libre y aleatoria que busca dialogar con las guitarras y que no irrumpe para marcar omnipresencia, sino que acompaña con suaves golpes a las cajas de la batería y desliza sus baquetas sobre los platillos. "Awel" is a live performance at the Christuskirche church in Bochum, Germany, as part of the Moving Noises Festival in 2017. Baker plays the guitars and Karen Willems the percussion. This album consist in five tracks ("Awel I" to "Awel V") which unfolds as an improvisation set, where Baker with his guitar displays effects and drones that perpetuate the notes leaving them suspended for several minutes. Along with a free and random percussion that seeks dialogue with the guitars and that does not break out to mark omnipresence, but accompanies with soft blows to the drum boxes and slides its sticks on the cymbals.
