Hessien es un dúo compuesto por Tim Martin (Tim Diagram, Maps and Diagrams, Atlantis, Karst, Bluhm, Black Elk, Ouvala) y Charles Sage (y0t0, The Rothko Chapel).

Tim Diagram (Martin) está activo desde mediados de los ’90, con sesenta y cinco discos publicados solitario y en colaboración con otros artistas como The Green Kingdom. Tim también graba música bajo el nombre de Atlantis y trabaja en colaboración con Genoveva Kachurkova como Bluhm, con Charles Sage como Hessien, junto a Rob Lyon como Somme y con Arbee bajo el nombre de Emba. Así también dirige el sello Handstitched* en Reino Unido. Su más reciente colaboración fue con Bill Seaman y Stephen Spera con el álbum “The World Was Turning Before”, publicado en octubre 2023 por el sello francés Laaps. 

Charles Sage está activo hace 11 años con una producción de 14 discos editados en varios sellos independientes. Cofundó el colectivo de ruido de guitarra The Rothko Chapel (Pete Dowd, Noveller, Steve Kilbey, Tape Loop Orchestra, elintseeker, Tree Of Man).

Desde 2015, Hessien tiene varios discos publicado en los sellos Fluid Audio, Sound In Silence, Beko DSL, Long Story y Audio Gourmet.

Este es el segundo lanzamiento en el sello griego Sound In Silence, luego del EP “Calcifer” publicado en 2013.

“The Alchemist” evoca la densidad atmosférica de la guitarra de Mark Nelson (Pan-American) y las líneas melódicas de la guitarra de Vini Reilly (The Durruti Column). 

Los 10 tracks de este álbum se expanden en el horizonte con texturas de bellos acordes de guitarra que brillan con luz propia como “During The Darkest” que va tejiendo con sutiles melodías. “Yemeles” despliega un tapiz de bordes distorsionados, en tanto, “There’s More To It, You Know” con sus líneas ambientales y efectos de delay se esparcen por el espacio. “We Are Fond Of Them” es un viaje largo de capas de polvo cósmico y diálogo suave de acordes de guitarra.

Hessien crean una atmósfera ensoñadora de guitarras cristalinas y trepidantes que despliegan delicadeza y finas texturas.

Hessien is a duo consisting of Tim Martin (Tim Diagram, Maps and Diagrams, Atlantis, Karst, Bluhm, Black Elk, Ouvala) and Charles Sage (y0t0, The Rothko Chapel).

Tim Diagram (Martin) has been active since the mid-90s, with sixty-five albums released solo and in collaboration with other artists such as The Green Kingdom. Tim also records music under the name Atlantis and works in collaboration with Genoveva Kachurkova as Bluhm, with Charles Sage as Hessien, alongside Rob Lyon as Somme and with Arbee under the name Emba. He also runs the Handstitched* label in the UK. His most recent collaboration was with Bill Seaman and Stephen Spera with the album “The World Was Turning Before”, published in October 2023 by the French label Laaps.

Charles Sage has been active for 11 years with a production of 14 albums released on various independent labels. He co-founded guitar noise collective The Rothko Chapel (Pete Dowd, Noveller, Steve Kilbey, Tape Loop Orchestra, elintseeker, Tree Of Man).

Since 2015, Hessien has several albums released on the Fluid Audio, Sound In Silence, Beko DSL, Long Story and Audio Gourmet labels.

This is the second release on the Greek label Sound In Silence, following the “Calcifer” EP released in 2013.

The 10 tracks on this album expand on the horizon with textures of beautiful guitar chords that shine with their own light as on “During The Darkest” that weaves subtle melodies. “Yemeles” unfurls a tapestry of distorted edges, while “There’s More To It, You Know” with its ambient lines and delay effects spread across the space. “We Are Fond Of Them” is a long journey of layers of cosmic dust and soft dialogue of guitar chords.

Hessien create a dreamlike atmosphere of crystalline and fast-paced guitars that deploy delicacy and fine textures.
