Este álbum reúne a tres músicos y artistas con un importante bagaje musical. Bill Seaman es músico, artista multimedia e investigador de medios y es profesor en el Departamento de Música de la Universidad de Duke, en las carreras de Arte, Historia del Arte y Estudios Visuales. Posee cinco álbumes en solitario en Eilean Rec. y Fluid Audio, además de varios discos en colaboración con Craig Tattersall, John Supko, Offthesky, Rutger Zuydervelt y Stephen Vitiello, por nombrar algunos.
Por su parte, Tim Diagram (Martin) aka Maps and Diagrams está activo desde mediados de los ’90, con sesenta y cinco discos publicados solitario y en colaboración con otros artistas como The Green Kingdom. Tim también graba música bajo el nombre de Atlantis y trabaja en colaboración con Genoveva Kachurkova como Bluhm, con Charles Sage como Hessien, junto a Rob Lyon como Somme y con Arbee bajo el nombre de Emba. Así también dirige el sello Handstitched* en Reino Unido.
Stephen Spera es un artista afincado en Nueva York que trabaja en sonido, fotografía y artes plásticas. Sus discos han sido publicados en sellos como Handstitched, Tesselate, Parvoart, Red Records, Tessellate, TraceRecordings y Editions Vaché. Su proyecto con Tamalyn Miller, SPIRIT RADIO ha sido reconocido por la crítica. Desde 2020 colabora con Bill Seaman publicando el álbum “Architectures of Light” (Handstitched, 2022).
Para “The World Was Turning Before” Bill Seaman toca piano, guitarra con arco eléctrico, sintetizador analógo, DX7, grabaciones de campo, microrritmos, arreglos de samples, samples de armónica de cristal, drones. Diagram está cargo de la guitarra, sintetizador, grabaciones de locaciones, drones de ruido y arreglos de samples. Stephen Spera en sintetizador, arreglos vocales, grabaciones de campo, magnetófono Wollensak reel-to-reel, CB Radio, arreglos con samples y grabaciones vocales. Además este álbum incluye sampleos con el canto de Tamalyn Miller.
Con este conjunto de instrumentos y dispositivos electrónicos el trío despliega diez piezas de ambient envueltas en un tapiz de sonidos acústicos y electrónicos, finos y delicados, etéreos e íntimos, en los que emergen voces a lo lejos, con breves diálogos de niños jugando, creando en “Timebook” un ambiente cálido y encantador. Las breves e intrigantes frases de piano en “Our Medicine Is Working” se contrastan con los bellos cantos de pájaros. Los sintetizadores aéreos y el bello canto en “Spinning Wheels” navegan por los corredores cósmicos, en tanto que en “Far Away” se muestra el tintineo de objetos de vidrio que brillan con su propia luz. En “Earth Trio” el ruido de clicks se fusiona con apacibles líneas ambientales y sutiles acordes de guitarra para habitar un espacio de ensueño, mientras que “Whiskey Sierra” se desenvuelve en medio de coros y voces distantes en donde prevalece una atmósfera inquietante. La canción que da título al álbum y que cierra este disco, se sumerge en un mundo onírico que flota entre las nubes.
Este álbum despliega un abanico de colores rutilantes que embellecen el entorno, con un trabajo en el que se muestra la habilidad del trío para adornar cada momento con sus bellas melodías edificantes.

On “The World Was Turning Before” Bill Seaman plays piano, Ebow Guitar, Analogue synth, DX7, non-location recordings, micro-rhythms, sample arrangements, glass harmonica samples, drones. Tim Diagram (Martin) plays guitar, synth, location recordings, noise drones, sample arrangements, and Spera on synth, vocal arrangements, location recordings, Wollensak reel-to reel, CB Radio, sample arrangements, historical vocal recordings. Additionally, this album includes voice samples sung by Tamalyn Miller.
With this set of instruments and electronic devices the trio deploys ten ambient pieces wrapped in a tapestry of acoustic and electronic sounds, fine and delicate, ethereal, and intimate, in which voices emerge from a distance, with brief dialogues of children playing, creating on “Timebook” a warm and charming atmosphere. The short, intriguing piano phrases on “Our Medicine Is Working” are contrasted with mesmerizing bird chirps. Airy synths and beautiful singing on “Spinning Wheels” navigate in the cosmic corridors, while “Far Away” showcases the tinkling of glass objects glowing in their own light. On “Earth Trio” the noise of clicks merges with peaceful ambient lines and subtle guitar chords to inhabit a dreamlike space, while “Whiskey Sierra” unfolds amid choirs and distant voices where a disturbing atmosphere prevails. The title song of the album and which closes this record, immerses in a dream world that hovers among the clouds.
This album displays a range of brilliant colors that beautify the ambience, with a work that shows the trio's deftly to adorn every moment with their beautiful uplifting melodies.
