El músico y pintor belga Julien Meert conocido como Roger 3000 publica su tercer álbum “Reste Envie” en el sello belga Futura Resistenza, entregando un delicado trabajo que lo acompaña con guitarra clásica, eléctrica, bajo eléctrico, flauta, percusión, sintetizador, melódica, órgano y voz. 

Este álbum consiste en once canciones que se encuentran entre el folk, el pop, psicodelia y guiños a la chanson francesa. 

La música de Roger 3000 se desarrolla lentamente en un paisaje bucólico como si estuviera pintado en un cuadro naive y así se revela en “Entrée” que abre el disco con sus bellas y mínimas notas. “Avancée militaire” con su aire psicodélico y apacible deja una flauta levitando en el espacio. Los cantos de pájaros, las notas de sintetizador titilantes en “Vieux félin”, promueven un ambiente cálido. 

En “Reste envie” la voz susurrante de Meert y el coro con voz socarrona hacen que esta canción se sienta conmovedora. “Loin et désolé” tiene momentos de tensión con la distorsión de la guitarra pero luego vuelve a la calma con la sinuosa flauta. “Emmène ma respiration” me recuerda a la música del japonés Paniyolo, con sus preciosos acordes de guitarra como si ambientara una ceremonia religiosa. “Rentrer solo” evoca la chanson francesa, en tanto que “Derrière tes yeux bleus” - que cierra el disco – es la canción de más lago desarrollo del álbum, la que se experimenta como un viaje ensoñador, que se mueve a un ritmo suave e hipnótico.

La música en este álbum cautiva por sus arreglos sobrios y cándidos.

The Belgian musician and painter Julien Meert aka Roger 3000 releases his third album "Reste Envie" on the Belgian Futura Resistenza label, delivering a delicate work that accompanies with classical and electric guitar, electric bass, flute, percussion, synthesizer, melodica, organ and vocals.

This album consists of eleven songs that are sitting between folk, pop, psychedelia and nods to the French chanson.

Roger 3000's music unfolds slowly in a bucolic landscape as if it were painted in a naive painting which is revealed on “Entrée” that opens the album, with its beautiful and minimal notes. “Avancée militaire” with its psychedelic and peaceful mood leaves a flute levitating in space. The birdsong and shimmering synth notes on “Vieux félin” promote a warm atmosphere. 

On “Reste envie” Meert's whispery vocals and the sly-voiced chorus make this song feels poignant. “Loin et désolé” has moments of tension with the guitar distortions but then returns to calm with the sinuous flute. “Emmène ma respiration” reminds me of Japanese Paniyolo’s music, with its beautiful guitar chords as if it were setting the scene for a religious ceremony. "Rentrer solo" evokes the French chanson, while "Derrière tes yeux bleus" - which closes the album - is the song with the longest development on the album, the one that is experienced as a dreamy journey, moving at a smooth and hypnotic rhythm.

The music on this album captivates with its sober and candid arrangements.
