El sello británico Quiet Details se fundó este año y ya tiene un interesante catálogo de artistas como Field Lines Cartographer, bvdub, The Humble Bee y ahora lanza el nuevo álbum “Polymer” del berlinés Uwe Zahn, más conocido como Arovane, quien desde finales de los ’90 ha publicado casi 60 discos ya sea en solitario o en colaboración con otros(as) artistas en sellos como DIN, City Centre Offices, Vertical Form, 12k, entre otros, en la vertiente electrónica ambiental y minimalista.

"Polymer" es el segundo disco publicado este año, después de "Sinter" (laaps, 2023) y consiste en 14 canciones en las que Zahn trabaja con la síntesis modular, las grabaciones de campo y elementos acústicos que, junto con la practica en el diseño sonoro, genera ambientes cautivantes, relevando los microsonidos que consisten en clicks y otros ruidos como campanillas que titilan y resuenan, pulverizándose entre nuestras manos.

En este nuevo álbum deconstruye algunos objetos encontrados, transformándolos en objetos sonoros, así como la manipulación de sonidos, notas arpegiadas (“fosst“) y drones (“ysste”). Todo ello ocurre en un ambiente intimista y también expansivo (“ylassu”) y con gran vocación melódica (“rotor”, “ypaal“).

Arovane es un maestro en la creación de ambientes que evocan paisajes sonoros placenteros y cálidos que se sienten emocionantes.

The UK label Quiet Details was founded this year and already has an interesting roster such as Field Lines Cartographer, bvdub, The Humble Bee and now releases the new “Polymer” album by Berliner Uwe Zahn, better known as Arovane, who since the late 90s has released almost 60 albums, either solo or in collaboration with other artists, on labels like DIN, City Center Offices, Vertical Form, 12k, among others, sitting between ambient electronics and minimalism. 

"Polymer" is the second album released this year, after “Sinter” (laaps, 2023) and consists of 14 songs in which Zahn works with modular synthesis, field recordings and acoustic elements that, along with the sound design practice unfulrs captivating environments, highlighting the microsounds that consist of clicks and other noises such as bells that flicker and resonate, pulverizing between our hands.

In this new album he deconstructs some found objects, transforming them into sound objects, alongwith sound manipulation, arpeggiated notes (“fosst“) and drones (“ysste”). All of this takes place in an intimate and expansive environment (“ylassu”) with mesmerizing melodies (“rotor”, “ypaal”).

Arovane is a master at creating ambiences that evoke pleasant, warm soundscapes that feels poignant.
