Mission To The Sun se compone por Chris Samuels de Ritual Howls (sintetizadores, samples, programación) y Kirill Slavin (voz y letra), quienes publican su segundo álbum para Felte después de “Cleansed by Fire” (2021).

El dúo despliega un sonido post-industrial oscuro que se caracteriza por la voz sombría de Kirill Slavin y los teclados y sampleos de Chris Samuels, dándole espacialidad a la música del dúo. Además de las letras que nos hablan de un mundo en crisis. 

Abre este disco “Drowning” junto a pads sintetizados creando una atmósfera oscura e inquietante, mientras que las ráfagas sampleadas de una guitarra en “Sophia Oscillations“ hacen de contrapunto a las frecuencias intermitentes que van directo al vacío. Es ahora con “Attrition” y los bass drums que marcan pesados ritmos, junto a los sampleos de distorsión de guitarra de “Cornerstone”, que se aprecia una faceta más dura de su música, mientras que ”Touch” con esa suerte de spoken-word y teclados brumosos vuelve a la espectral ambientación que “No Foundation” profundiza con el rasgueo de cuerdas y ruidos procesados como si fueran los arreglos para una ceremonia pagana.

Mission To The Sun crea laberintos sinuosos junto a una narrativa fantasmal, cuyo paisaje sonoro evoca imágenes abstractas y perturbadoras.

Mission To The Sun is Chris Samuels of Ritual Howls (synthesizers, samples, programming) and Kirill Slavin (vocals and lyrics), who have released their second album for Felte after “Cleansed by Fire” (2021).

The duo displays a dark post-industrial sound characterized by Kirill Slavin's somber vocals and Chris Samuels' keyboards and samples, giving the duo's music a spatiality. In addition to the lyrics that talk about a world in crisis.

This album opens with “Drowning” along with synthesized pads creating a dark and haunting atmosphere, while the guitar’s sampled bursts on “Sophia Oscillations”, as a counterpoint to the intermittent frequencies that go straight into the void. It is now with "Attrition" and the bass drums that mark heavy rhythms, together with the distortion guitar samples of "Cornerstone", that a harder side of their music can be appreciated, while "Touch" with that sort of spoken- word and misty keyboards returns to the spectral atmosphere that “No Foundation” deepens with the strumming of strings and noises processed, as if they were the arrangements for a pagan ceremony.

Mission To The Sun creates winding mazes alongside a ghostly narrative, whose soundscape evokes disturbing, abstract imagery.
