Delta-Sleep-Inducing Peptide (DSIP) fue fundado en 1989 por Dieter Mauson, aka Occupied Head y mitad de Nostalgie Éternelle, y Siegmar Fricke aka Bestattungsinstitut y Pharmakustik y miembro en varias bandas.
En 1992, “Evil” fue editado originalmente en Delta-Sleep-Inducing Productions, en cassette. En 1994 el dúo se disolvió, produciendo más de 25 cassettes publicados en los sellos IRRE, Corrosive, EE y Toracic Tapes, así como en su propia etiqueta Delta-Sleep-Inducing Productions. En junio de este año, el sello inglés Infinite Expanse lo reeditó también en cassette.
El dúo utilizó varios instrumentos y dispositivos electrónicos para producir “Evil”, como una grabadora de cinta multipista, un sampler Roland, sintetizadores analógicos, varias cajas de ritmos y dictáfonos, desplegando un sonido post-punk enraizado en los estilos minimal synth con guiños a la synth-wave como lo delata “We don't care (pre-mix)”, única canción en el álbum que tiene un beat 4x4, mientras que el resto del disco son tracks instrumentales cargados de una densa atmósfera y acompañados de voces sampleadas, muchas de ellas capturadas de la radio de aquella época.
La bella apertura con “Take care dear!” con su línea de teclado y voces, algunas de ellas manipuladas, se desenvuelven con elegancia, creando un aura épica. Un lado más experimental ofrecen los tracks “Ich sterbe gar nicht “ y “White corpses tilting over”, mientras las canciones “Arousal” y “Obsequies” muestran un matiz dark. “Vibrating subconscience” con las notas temblorosas y ambiguas del sintetizador, cierra un álbum que sigue estando vigente.

In 1992, "Evil" was originally released on Delta-Sleep-Inducing Productions on cassette. In 1994 the duo disbanded, producing over 25 cassettes released on the IRRE, Corrosive, EE and Toracic Tapes labels, as well as their own Delta-Sleep-Inducing Productions imprint. In June 2023 the English label Infinite Expanse also reissued it on cassette.
The duo used an array of instruments and electronic devices to produce “Evil”, including a multitrack tape recorder, a Roland sampler, analog synthesizers, various drum machines, and Dictaphones, displaying a post-punk sound rooted in minimal synth styles with nods to synth-wave as revealed on "We don't care (pre-mix)", the only song on the album that shows a 4x4 beat, while the rest of the record are instrumental tracks loaded with a dense atmosphere, accompanied by sampled voices, many of them captured from the radio of that period.
The gorgeous opening with “Take care dear!” with its keyboard line and vocals, some of them manipulated, unfold gracefully creating an epic aura. A more experimental side is showcased by the tracks “Ich sterbe gar nicht” and “White corpses tilting over”, while the songs “Arousal” and “Obsequies” exude a dark undertone. “Vibrating subconscious” with its trembling and ambiguous synthesizer notes, closes an album that is still current.
