Lisa Stenberg es compositora y música sueca residente en Estocolmo quien trabaja con paisajes sonoros y composiciones electroacústicas enraizadas en los estilos drone y electrónica experimental. Su práctica la lleva a cabo en performances en vivo y en sitios-específicos, presentándose en edificios y entornos acústicos específicos.

Esta composición fue encargada originalmente por el reconocido festival de arte documenta14, como parte de una colaboración entre KSYME-CMRC, documenta14, el famoso estudio sueco Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) y Fylkingen (asociación que promueve la música experimental desde 1933), para restaurar y reactivar el sintetizador EMS Synthi 100 del estudio KSYME, así también la restauración del estudio CMRC en Atenas.

“Monument” consiste en cinco pistas con el sintetizador Synthi 100 en Atenas y el Synthi 200 en Osnabrück, Alemania. La mayoría de las pistas son de larga duración donde el sonido de los sintetizadores incluyen gruesas capas de texturas y timbres, cuyas vibraciones se sienten y que casi se pueden tocar. Las composiciones se desarrollan lentamente como ese baño de mar sanador de “Healer”. En tanto “Oracular” nos transporta a otro territorio más inquietante como lo hace “Heart” en la apertura. El track “Monument” es intenso y penetrante como un mantra de drones que se sostiene eternamente. “Epithymia” cierra el álbum con líneas sintéticas trepidantes que oscilan como un viaje de ida y vuelta.

Lisa Stenberg muestra su expertise tocando complejos sintetizadores que develan sonidos cálidos e hipnóticos, apropiados para sumergirse en ellos y construir nuestro propio paisaje sonoro.

Lisa Stenberg is a composer and musician based in Stockholm who works with soundscapes and electroacoustic compositions rooted in drone and experimental electronic music. His practice is carried out in live and site-specific performances appearing in specific buildings and acoustic environments.

This composition was originally commissioned by the renowned art festival documenta14, as part of a collaboration between KSYME-CMRC, documenta14, the famous Swedish studio Elektronmusikstudion (EMS) and Fylkingen (an association promoting experimental music since 1933), to restore and reactivate the EMS Synthi 100 synthesizer from the KSYME studio, as well as the restoration of the CMRC studio in Athens.

“Monument” consists of five tracks featuring the Synthi 100 synthesizer in Athens and the Synthi 200 in Osnabrück, Germany. Most of the songs are long-form tracks where the synth sound includes thick layers of textures and timbres. The vibrations are felt and almost touchable. The compositions unfold slowly like that healing sea wash on “Healer”. While "Oracular" conveys to a more disturbing territory like "Heart" does in the opening. The track "Monument" is intense and penetrating like a drone mantra that sustains endlessly. “Epithymia” closes the album with fast-paced synthetic lines that oscillate like a round trip.

Lisa Stenberg shows her expertise playing complex synthesizers that reveal warm and hypnotic sounds, appropriate to immerse yourself in and build your own soundscape.
