Scotch Rolex And Shackleton | "Death By Tickling" | Silver Triplet | 2023

Scotch Rolex And Shackleton | "Death By Tickling" | Silver Triplet | 2023

This is a collaborative project between Shigeru Ishihara and Sam Shackleton. Berlin-based Japanese musician and producer Ishihara is better known as DJ Scotch Egg. Since 2004, he has released a slew of records and arranged for Seefeel, among other artists. He has also released records for Nyege Nyege's Ugandan label Hakuna Kulala, based on the sound of heavy bass and frenetic beats in the gabber and grindcore styles. The British electronic musician Shackelton also lives in Berlin and has been active for 14 years now in which he has released more than 40 albums, including albums, EP's, singles and collaborations with other artists. In 2010, he founded the label Woe To The Septic Heart! and before that, the now-defunct Skull Disco imprint. He works under the nicknames of Reiner Zufall, Shackleton and Tunes Of Negation displaying with electronic music with hypnotic elements and esoteric rituals. The heavy beats are balanced here, although the hyperkinetic rhythm is persistent, along with hypnotic percussion with a trance pace and tribal, dub and techno influences, three very different from its origins but complementary aspects. The 10 tracks take place as in a tribal ceremony in which the shaman is expected to start it. Electronic textures run through the entire ritualistic landscape with sounds of voices from beyond, synthetic ambient lines, noises and pulsations with soft galloping rhythms.

"Death By Tickling" (death by tickling) brings together two renown electronic musicians who invite the listener to an initiation experience, deep and lilting.
