La productora de música electrónica circasiana-turca de Estambul, Sine Buyuka, radicada en Londres, lanza bajo el seudónimo de Sinemis, su tercer disco en su sello Injazero, titulado "Dua" que combina la música sufí ancestral de su tierra natal con influencias ambient. También ha publicado en 7K! y próximamente lo hará en Sub Rosa y Leiter. Es estudiante de posgrado en música electrónica en Guildhall, School of Music and Drama y conduce un programa de radio mensual en la estación de arte sonoro con sede en Londres, Resonance Extra.

A finales de 2021, mientras visitaba a su familia en Estambul para las navidades, Sine enferma gravemente por lo que tuvo que ser hospitalizada para relazarle una cirugía. En el tiempo de su recuperación se siente atraída por la música Sufi de Turquía y el Oriente Medio. Más tarde comienza a componer “Dua”, proceso que tiene un fuerte componente en su recuperación. La música por cierto es inspiradora, construida a base de melodías edificantes que se despliegan en sublimes atmósferas que contienen grabaciones de campo, sonidos encontrados, instrumentos acústicos y electrónica. 

Abre el disco con “Dua”, una pieza ambiental con incrustaciones de glitches y una sutil percusión que presagia a “Elegy” que se eleva por los aires en un increscendo junto a unos bellos coros celestiales y una nota pulsante que continua palpitando en “Gazel” que toma fuerza con las líneas sintetizadas que permiten levitar en el espacio, mientras que “Flow” se mueve por los territorios del neo clásico. “Only Breath” tiene una dosis inquietante en la que se percibe cierta tensión. “The Bazaar” y “In the End”  son las dos únicas piezas en las que se muestran pulsaciones rítmicas con influencias techno-ambient.

Sine Buyuka en este disco crea bellos paisajes sonoros luminosos y sublimes en donde convergen la sanación y la esperanza.

Circassian-Turkish from Istanbul electronic music producer London-based Sine Buyuka, releases her third record on her Injazero label, titled "Dua" which blends the ancient Sufi music of her homeland with ambient-influenced vibe. She has also published on 7K!, and will soon release on Sub Rosa and Leiter. She is a graduate student in electronic music in Guildhall School of Music and Drama and hosts a monthly radio show on London-based sound art station Resonance Extra.

Late in 2021, while visiting her family in Istanbul for Christmas, Sine became seriously ill and had to be hospitalized for surgery. At the time of recovery she is drawn to Sufi music from Turkey and the Middle East. She later begins to compose "Dua", a process that has a strong component in her recovery. The music is certainly inspiring, built on uplifting melodies that unfold in sublime atmospheres that contain field recordings, found sounds, acoustic instruments and electronics.

The album opens with “Dua”, an ambient piece encrusted with glitches and subtle percussion that heralds’ “Elegy” rising through the air in a crescendo, along with blissful choruses and a pulsating note that continues to throb on “Gazel” that gains strength with the synthesized lines that allow you to levitate into space, while “Flow” moves through neoclassical territories. “Only Breath” has a eerie dose in which a certain tension is perceived. “The Bazaar” and “In the End” are the only two pieces that show rhythmic pulsations with techno-ambient influences. Sine Buyuka on this album creates mesmerizing, luminous and sublime soundscapes where healing and hope come together.
