Michał Wiśniowski es un artista sonoro polaco quien vive en Cracovia y es un empedernido explorador de sonidos a través de grabaciones de campo y el ambiente como entorno sonoro, Para esto último Wiśniowski organiza expediciones dentro y fuera de la ciudad de Cracovia.

En 2021, lanzó un EP “Zima nad Bałtykiem (Invierno en el mar Báltico)” que consiste em grabaciones de campo que se focalizan en los sonidos invernales del agua. En 2022, lanzó “Organism”, un álbum que presenta bloques de pisos como un organismo vivo. Es el presentador en un programa radial dedicado a la música ambiental. 

El álbum que nos ocupa pertenece a la serie “Field Recording” Gruenrekorder, sello alemán que aglutina a un importante elenco de artistas sonoros de alrededor del mundo. “Acts and Recitals” consiste en nueve piezas grabadas durante la estancia de un mes en Georgia (ubicada en la intersección de Europa del Este y Asia Occidental y hoy en día se considera generalmente como parte de Europa).

“Overture” que abre el álbum comienza con la grabación de objetos metálicos que titilan como campañillas. Al parecer ello ocurre en el campo, así como los sonidos de agua que se escuchan en “Symphonic Poem”. Se percibe que son grabaciones realizadas a corta distancia. Distinto ocurre en “Wind Tickets” que captura el viento en un espacio abierto. En “Block 99, House 7, Floor 7” asoma un sonido industrial, incluyendo metales y chirridos. En “Voice sticks in the memory” aparecen los aspectos performativos que señala Wiśniowski en el comunicado de prensa que comprende una percusión que suena a lo lejos y conversaciones de adultos y niños. Al parecer todo ello ocurre en un ambiente festivo. El artista sonoro ahora se interna en el bosque y el canto de pájaros y voces a lo lejos se escuchan en “Serenada 11” y en “A risky Kiss”, aunque este último comprende un viaje más al interior del bosque. “Aria” que cierra este disco, los sonidos de pájaros son casi imperceptibles como si el espacio sonoro estuviera en completo silencio. 

Michał Wiśniowski propone un viaje en el que podemos imaginar los paisajes sonoros y también la audioesfera de aquella parte del mundo.

Michał Wiśniowski is a Polish sound artist who lives in Krakow and is an inveterate explorer of sounds through field recordings and the ambient as a sound environment. For the latter, Wiśniowski organizes expeditions inside and outside the city of Krakow.

In 2021, he released an EP “Zima nad Bałtykiem (Winter on the Baltic Sea)” consisting of field recordings that focus on the winter sounds of water. In 2022, he released "Organism," an album that features apartment blocks as a living organism. He is also the presenter in a radio program that deals with ambience.

The album in question belongs to Gruenrekorder’s "Field Recording" series, a German label that brings together an important roster of sound artists from around the world. “Acts and Recitals” consists of nine pieces recorded during his month-long stay in Georgia (it is located at the intersection of Eastern Europe and Western Asia, and is today generally regarded as part of Europe). 

"Overture" that opens the album begins with the recording of metallic objects that twinkle like bells. Apparently, this occurs in the field, as well as the water sounds on "Symphonic Poem". It is perceived that they are recordings made at close range which is quite different in “Wind Tickets” that captures the wind in an open space. On “Block 99, House 7, Floor 7” an industrial sound looms, including metal and screeching. In “Voice sticks in the memory” the performative aspects that Wiśniowski points out in the press release appear, which includes percussion that sounds in the distance and conversations between adults and children. Apparently all this occurs in a festive atmosphere. The sound artist now goes into the forest and the bird chirps and voices in the distance are heard in “Serenada 11” and in “A risky Kiss”, although the latter includes a journey further into the forest. Rounding off the album with "Aria", the sounds of birds are almost imperceptible as if the sound space were completely in silence.

Michał Wiśniowski proposes a journey in which we can imagine the soundscapes and also the audiosphere of that part of the world.
