El compositor, multiinstrumentista y diseñador de sonido tunecino Haythem Mahbouli afincado en Montreal (Canadá) lanzó su segundo álbum “Last Man On Earth” en Schole Records.

Mahbouli en este disco toca el sintetizador y está a cargo de la electrónica, acompañado en cuerdas, metales y coro por la Budapest Scoring Orchestra.

Este es el segundo álbum de Mahbouli, después de “Catching Moments in Time” (Schole Records, 2019), en el que estuvo acompañado por la Orquesta Filarmónica de la Ciudad de Praga.

“Last Man On Earth” es una banda sonora que trata sobre el futuro en el que el hombre/mujer se enfrenta a la extinción. Mahbouli describe este larga duración “como un álbum conceptual que ilustra musicalmente el fracaso de la humanidad para preservar nuestro planeta y, en última instancia, a nosotros mismos”. “The chosen ones” que abre este disco comienza a mostrar las bellas orquestaciones que acompañarán el resto del álbum y que envuelven y atrapan al oyente con su sublime elegancia, agregándose altas líneas vocales en “Farewell to earth” y en “The abandoned ones”, junto a sublimes melodías melancólicas. “The great flood”, cuyo título tiene un sentido bíblico, sorprende por su sentido de urgencia que se manifiesta en las aceleradas pulsaciones rítmicas, mientras las líneas ambientales de sintetizadores parecen grandes caudales de agua. Cerrando este álbum, con el track que da título a este álbum, asoma un piano y las cuerdas que interpretan la tristeza de un mundo que está a punto de acabarse.

Tunisian composer, multi-instrumentalist and sound designer Haythem Mahbouli based in Montreal (Canada) released his second album “Last Man On Earth” on Schole Records.

Mahbouli on this album plays the synthesizer and is in charge of electronics, accompanied on strings, brass and chorus by the Budapest Scoring Orchestra.

This is Mahbouli's second album, after “Catching Moments in Time” (Schole Records, 2019), in which he was accompanied by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. 

“Last Man On Earth” is a soundtrack that deals with the future in which man/woman faces extinction. Mahbouli describes this full-lenght “as a concept album which musically illustrates humanity’s failure to preserve our planet and ultimately ourselves.” 

The chosen ones” that opens this album begins to show the beautiful orchestrations that will accompany the rest of the album and that envelop and captivate the listener with their sublime elegance, adding soaring vocal lines in “Farewell to earth” and in “The abandoned ones”, along with sublime melancholic melodies. “The great flood”, whose title has a biblical meaning, surprises with its sense of urgency that is manifested in the accelerated rhythmic pulsations, while the ambient synthesizer lines seem like great flows of water. Closing this album, with the track that gives this album its title, a piano unfolds and the strings interpret the sadness of a world that is about to end.
