“Duet Layers” es la última edición de la serie Layers que se une a las primeras ediciones de “Piano Layers”, “String Layers”, “Ambient Layers” y “Wind Layers”, que incluye a músicos de distintas partes del mundo que trabajan en el campo de la música clásica contemporánea. 

En este Varios Artistas, cada una de las piezas son ejecutadas en dúo. Es así como la apertura la compone la pianista polaca Hania Rani y el saxofonista canadiense Colin Stetson con “In All This Heavy Blue”. Una pieza en la que Rani alza su voz para hacer un coro celestial, junto a las ondulantes melodías del saxo de Stetson. Le sigue “Lost” del compositor italiano Stefano Guzzetti y el norteamericano Neil Leiter, quien toca la viola y es fundador de Echo Collective. “Lost” es una bella pieza de piano y viola que evoca nostalgia junto a unas melancólicas melodías. Continúa “Appearing” del violinista británico Simon Goff, junto a la chelista polaca Dobrawa Czocher. En esta pieza las cuerdas comienzan a dialogar y lentamente se juntan en un in crescendo que se siente emocionante. Luego el multiinstrumentista alemán Niklas Paschburg junto al violinista/violista latinoamericano, residente en Los Angeles, Bryan Senti componen “Jungle”, una pieza rítmica con una refrescante percusión que juega con lúdicas melodías.

“Thought Sent Valley” es del trombonista norteamericano Peter Zummo y el compositor y diseñador de sonido australiano Tilman Robinson. En este track, el más abstracto de todos, se escuchan complejas texturas electrónicas, junto a los balbuceos del trombón. Y cierra este álbum “Perseids” de la violinista italiana Laura Masotto y el multiinstrumentista británico Ryan Teague, con una pieza luminosa que se mueve al ritmo de una danza. 

“Duet Layers” es un compilado que reúne a importantes artistas, cuyas composiciones muestran su maestría y elegante parsimonia.

'Duet Layers' is the latest edition of the Layers series that joins the first editions of 'Piano Layers,' 'String Layers', 'Ambient Layers' and 'Wind Layers,' which includes musicians from different parts of the world who work in the field of contemporary classical music.

In this various artists, each one of the pieces are played in duet. This is how the opener is composed by Polish pianist Hania Rani and Canadian saxophonist Colin Stetson with 'In All This Heavy Blue.' A piece in which Rani raises her voice to make a heavenly choir, along with the undulating melodies of the Stetson sax. It is followed by 'Lost' by Italian composer Stefano Guzzetti and the American composer Neil Leiter, who plays the viola and is the founder of Echo Collective. “Lost” is a beautiful piano and viola piece that evokes nostalgia along with melancholy melodies. 'Appearing' is composed by British violinist Simon Goff and Polish cellist Dobrawa Czocher. In this piece the strings begin to dialogue and slowly come together in a crescendo that feels poignant. Then German multi-instrumentalist Niklas Paschburg together with Los Angeles-based Latin American violinist/violist Bryan Senti, composed 'Jungle,' a rhythmic piece with refreshing percussion and playful melodies.

'Thought Sent Valley' by American trombonist Peter Zummo and Australian composer and sound designer Tilman Robinson. In this track, the most abstract of all, electronic textures are heard, along with the babble of the trombone. And the album's closing track 'Perseids' by Italian violinist Laura Masotto and British multi-instrumentalist Ryan Teague, unfolds a luminous piece that moves to the rhythm of a dance.

'Duet Layers' is a compilation that brings together important artists, whose compositions show their mastery and elegant parsimony.
