Massimo Discepoli es baterista, compositor electrónico, profesor y productor italiano que reside en Asís, quien publica su primer disco en 2014. El sello italiano DOF edita su cuarto álbum y el sexto en su trayectoria de ocho años. Su anterior álbum "Last year, the next day" (Dof, 2021; comentado en loop: http://www.loop.cl/content/view/1800/27/), exhibe un mayor acento en el post-rock que su nuevo álbum “An unusual way to disappear” que despliega atisbos al jazz con sus ritmos sincopados y finas texturas electrónicas. 

La apertura con “Next veil” hace presagiar un disco con exquisitas y envolventes atmósferas que son acompañadas por la percusión libre. Las notas sintetizadas en “Glimpses of a dream” suenan como campanillas que titilan, iluminando el entorno, mientras que “Temporary answer” muestra sus notas deslizantes y melancólicas que son acentuadas en “Curtains of sleep”. En “Shrinking details” predominan las oníricas notas electrónicas que revolotean en el ambiente, junto a los suaves golpes de la batería. 

En esta nueva entrega Massimo Discepoli devela con gran habilidad su sensibilidad melódica y rítmica.

Massimo Discepoli is an Italian drummer, electronic composer, teacher and producer living in Assisi who released his first album in 2014. The Italian DOF label releases his fourth album and the sixth one in his eight-year career. His previous album "Last year, the next day" (Dof, 2021; reviewed on loop: http://www.loop.cl/content/view/1800/27/), is marked by its post-rock accent in relation with his new album “An unusual way to disappear” that displays glimpses of jazz with its syncopated rhythms and fine electronic textures.

The opening with “Next veil” presages an album with exquisite and enveloping atmospheres that are accompanied by a free percussion. The synth notes on “Glimpses of a dream” sound like tinkling chimes, lighting up the surroundings, while “Temporary answer” showcases its gliding, melancholy notes that are accentuated on “Curtains of sleep”. In “Shrinking details” the dreamy electronic notes that flutter in the environment, along with the soft drum beats.

In this new installment, Massimo Discepoli skillfully reveals his melodic and rhythmic sensitivity.
