Gamardah Fungus es un dúo ucraniano formado en 2009 en Dnipro por el diseñador de sonido Igor Yalivec y el guitarrista Sergey Yagoda. Tienen varios discos editados en Ucrania e Inglaterra.

El enfoque musical de la banda se basa en la filosofía del budismo zen y la metafísica y sus propias prácticas meditativas.

En relación a “Metamorphosis” dúo declara: "Este es probablemente nuestro álbum más duro hasta la fecha. Fue grabado antes de la guerra en nuestro país y parecía presagiar el estado de ánimo que sería inherente a nosotros en 2022".

Este álbum a publicarse el 12 de este mes en el reconocido sello de Deventer, Países Bajos, muestra improvisaciones en sintetizadores granulares y modulares, guitarras acústicas y eléctricas y otros instrumentos. 

El dúo propone una combinación de drone, acercamientos furtivos al jazz, electroacústica y experimentación que despliega una atmósfera inquietante y oscura. Las distintas capas de “Metamorphosis incluyen texturas electrónicas con sonidos microscópicos casi inaudibles, exploraciones acústicas de guitarra y flauta (o similar), junto a líneas sintetizadas que muestran tanto modulaciones suaves como ruidos orgánicos.

Gamardah Fungus con este disco invita a reflexionar acerca de la deriva oscura de la insensatez humana corrompida por la ambición y que es posible de advertir por la ambientación sonora creada por este dúo y que rodea este nuevo disco.

Gamardah Fungus is a Ukrainian duo from Dnipro who formed in 2009 by sound designer Igor Yalivec and guitarist Sergey Yagoda. They have several albums released in Ukraine and England.

The band's musical approach is based on the philosophy of Zen Buddhism and metaphysics and its own meditative practices.

Regarding “Metamorphosis”, the duo states: "This is probably our hardest album to date. It was recorded before the war in our country and seemed to presage the mood that would be inherent in us in 2022".

To be release in September 12th. on the critical acclaimed label from Deventer, The Netherlands, this album showcases improvisations on granular and modular synthesizers, acoustic and electric guitars, and other instruments.

The duo proposes a combination of drone, contrails approaches to jazz, electroacoustic and experimentation that unfolds an ambience of disturbing and dark atmosphere. The different layers of “Metamorphosis include electronic textures with almost inaudible microscopic sounds, acoustic explorations of guitar and flute (or similar), along with synthesized lines that show both smooth modulations and organic noises.

Gamardah Fungus with this album invites us to reflect on the dark drift of human foolishness corrupted by ambition and that can be noticed by the sound environment created by this duo and that surrounds this new installment.
