Lore City | “Animate" Single | Lore City Music | 2022

Agosto 2022

The art-rock duo Lore City is based in Portland, Oregon and they formed in 2011 by Laura Mariposa Williams (vocals, keyboards, guitar) and Eric Angelo Bessel (percussion, keyboards, guitar). They blend different styles such as dark-wave, mystical rock and dream-pop.

The duo announces the new EP “Under Way” to be published early in October and as a preview, will be released on August 25 the single “Animate”, which continues with the ceremonial rhythms and an epic aura that surrounds their music.

The angelical vocal of Laura Mariposa Williams is positioned at a great height in "Animate", accompanied by dark keyboard lines and tribal rhythms. It reminds me of the outstanding Dead Can Dance’s period with their album “Spleen and Ideal”. Lore City’s single feels poignant by its mystical character that it displays with its innate delicacy that it shows once again in this new installment.
