El guitarrista Maurice Louca es uno de los artistas clave en la escena experimental de Egipto. Louca trabaja con bandas como Lekhfa, Orchestra Omar, Alif, Bikya y los Dwarfs of East Agouza.
“Saet El-Hazz (La Hora de la Suerte)” se desenvuelve en los géneros de la música árabe, psicodelia, folk, electrónica e improvisación libre. Para ello Louca se reúne con el 'A' Trio libanés formado por Mazen Kerbaj en trompeta preparada, Sharif Sehnaoui en guitarra preparada y Raed Yassin en contrabajo preparado.
Louca toca una guitarra modificada que fue encargada a un luthier de Turquía, así también se modificó el Serang, xilófono indonesio. Con estos nuevos instrumentos, se conseguirían nuevas tonalidades y por ello expande la formación incluyendo a Khaled Yassine, percusionista y baterista, a la arpista Christine Kazaryan y al violonchelista Anthea Caddy.
La música fluye vertiginosamente en una amalgama de instrumentos acústicos y electrónicos. Mazen Kerbaj toca la trompeta a través de varios tubos y mangueras, junto a diversos objetos. Por su parte, el contrabajista Raed Yassin y el guitarrista Sharif Sehnaoui tocan con distinta intensidad las cuerdas de sus instrumentos, utilizando a veces clavijas y clips. A esto se suman los crujidos y zumbidos y las alocadas y sinuosas notas del sintetizador. En un ambiente de improvisación, la experimentación se evidencia con los timbres de campanas, acordes de guitarra con influencia flamenca y árabe, espirales del sintetizador y ruidos de clavijas y clips. Un collage sonoro rico en matices donde cada sonido cobra su propia personalidad para una música envolvente que invita a una escucha profunda.

"Saet El-Hazz (The Hour of Luck)" unfolds in the genres of Arabic music, psychedelia, folk, electronic and free improvisation. For this Louca team up with the Lebanese 'A' Trio made up of Mazen Kerbaj on prepared trumpet, Sharif Sehnaoui on prepared guitar and Raed Yassin on prepared double bass.
Louca plays a modified guitar that was commissioned to a luthier in Turkey, as well as the Serang, the Indonesian xylophone. With these new instruments, new tonalities would be achieved and for this reason he expanded the formation including Khaled Yassine, percussionist and drummer, harpist Christine Kazaryan and cellist Anthea Caddy.
The music flows dizzyingly in an amalgamation of acoustic and electronic instruments. Mazen Kerbaj plays his trumpet through various tubes and hoses, along with various objects. For their part, double bassist Raed Yassin and guitarist Sharif Sehnaoui play the strings of their instruments with different intensity, sometimes using pegs and clips. Add to that the crackling and buzzing sounds and crazy, sinuous synth notes. In an improvisational environment, experimentation is evidenced by bell timbres, flamenco and Arabic-influenced guitar chords, synthesizer spirals, and noises from pins and clips. A sound collage rich in nuances where each sound takes on its own personality for enveloping music that invites to a deep listening.
