Illusion Of Safety es el proyecto de Daniel Burke quien reside en Chicago quien comenzó en 1983 y es uno de los músicos más relevantes de la escena post-industrial / ambient, junto con referencias como SPK, Arcane Device, Asmus Tietchens, Rapoon, entre otros. 

La música de Throbbing Gristle es el acicate que lo lleva a comenzar su producción musical que ha publicado más de treinta discos en Die Stadt, Experimedia, Silent, Soleilmoon, Staalplaat y hoy en el prestigioso sello alemán Drone Records, entre otras etiquetas.

En “New Rules, Same game, Less Instruction” pertenece a la nueva serie de Drone Records, "SYM" y se perfila como la continuación de su anterior single 'Rules Of The Game' (1995) que tiene un componente político donde prevalece la dominación de uno sobre otro y que por cierto me permito vincular con el momento histórico actual por el que atravesamos. 

La música expansiva de este álbum tiene elementos de la electroacústica, el noise, 

sonidos de estática y chirridos, timbres, pulsos de subgraves a través de los sintetizadores analógicos que utiliza Burke, el software musical Ableton, las grabaciones de campo y sampleos, todo ello converge en las gruesas capas y texturas que envuelven a este disco. La electrónica flotante de “Sore Winners” muestra el lado más oscuro de la música de Illusion Of Safety, con sus pequeños ruidos y timbres, en tanto que “Absolution” despliega la faceta melódica con un ambient apacible.

La música cinemática de Burke evoca momentos inquietantes, con una atmósfera brumosa, a veces abstracta y por sobre todo conmovedora.

Illusion Of Safety is the project of Daniel Burke, based in Chicago who started in 1983 and he's one of the most reknown musicians in the post-industrial / ambient scene, along with references such as SPK, Arcane Device, Asmus Tietchens, Rapoon, among others.

Throbbing Gristle's music is the spur that leads him to start his musical production of more than thirty albums released on Die Stadt, Experimedia, Silent, Soleilmoon, Staalplaat and today on the well-known German label Drone Records, among other imprints.

"New Rules, Same game, Less Instruction" belongs to the new series of Drone Records, "SYM" and is outlined as the continuation of his previous single 'Rules Of The Game' (1995) that has a political component with the domination of one over the other, that by the way, I allow myself to link this with the current historical moment we are facing.

The expansive music on this album has elements of electroacoustic music, noise, static and screeching sounds, timbres, sub-bass pulses through Burke's analog synthesizers, Ableton music software, field recordings and samples that converges into thick layers and textures that wrap up this record.

The hovering electronics of “Sore Winners” shows the darker side of Illusion Of Safety's music, with its small noises, timbres and hazy atmosphere, while “Absolution” unfolds the melodic facet with a calm ambient.

Burke's cinematic music evokes unsettling moments, with a misty, sometimes abstract atmosphere and above all touching.
