Grein está compuesto por Aaron Michael Smith y Jay Rauch quienes trabajan a distancia, compartiendo ideas y archivos entre las ciudades de Boston y Seattle. 

Esta propuesta experimental y cercana al arte sonoro combina sonidos de oboe, el rasgueo de cuerdas y grabaciones de campo.

Este disco tiene como columna vertebral los tonos vacilantes y cuotas de silencio que denotan una tensión permanente que se respira en el aire develando la elasticidad del material. Prevaleciendo los sonidos de cuerdas desafinadas que se estiran con fuerza, además de pequeños ruidos que sobresalen a la superficie de bordes oscuros. 

“Taxic Gnosis” propone el desasosiego que perdura como estado de ánimo, con inesperados arrebatos sonoros envueltos de la tiesura de las cuerdas y el balbuceo de trepidante del oboe.

Grein is made up of Aaron Michael Smith and Jay Rauch who work over the distante, sharing ideas and files between the cities of Boston and Seattle.

This experimental proposal, close to sound art, combines oboe sounds, string strumming and field recordings.

This album has as backbone the hesitant tones and silent quotas that denote a permanent tension that is breathed in the air revealing the elasticity of the material. Prevailing sounds of out of tune strings being pulled hard, plus small noises protruding to the surface of dark edges.

“Taxic Gnosis” proposes the restlessness that lasts as a state of mind, with unexpected sound outbursts wrapped in the stiffness of the strings and the trembling babble of the oboe.
