"In Pieces - Volume One" posee una mezcla perfecta de electroacústica, avant-garde, rock ácido y noise, que nace a partir de varias sesiones de improvisación de Taumel junto a Ensemble Adapter y en las que Jakob Diehl estuvo a cargo de los teclados, voz, guitarras, máquina de escribir, cinta, en tanto Sven Pollkötter lo hizo en percusiones, sampler, teclados, guitarras y efectos. Las dos pistas de este disco consisten en remezclas de estas sesiones, así como material de estudio adicional producido por Taumel.

En cada momento se manifiesta la tensión entre la improvisación y la estructura, el orden y el caos. La voz es un instrumento más al adoptar distintas formas y estados emocionales; desde el grito como momento de desesperación al canto apesadumbrado convertido en angustia que evoca imágenes oscuras e inquietantes. Esto último se expresa nítidamente en el lado B, mientras que en el lado A, emerge una máquina de escribir, voces y expresiones enérgicas y algunos ruidos ambiente como telón de fondo. Hacia el final de este lado surge un interesante diálogo entre los riffs, los zigzagueantes teclados y los ritmos aleatorios de la batería.

"In Pieces - Volume One" has a perfect blend of electroacoustic, avant-garde, acid rock and noise, which was produce from several improvisation sessions by Taumel with Ensemble Adapter and in which Jakob Diehl was in charge of the keyboards, voice, guitars, typewriter, tape, while Sven Pollkötter did it in percussion, sampler, keyboards, guitars and effects. The two tracks on this album consist of remixes of these sessions, as well as additional studio material produced by Taumel.

At every moment the tension between improvisation and structure, order and chaos, is manifested. The voice is one more instrument by adopting different forms and emotional states; from the screaming as a moment of despair to the sad song turned into anguish that conjure up dark and disturbing images. The latter is clearly expressed on the B side, while on the A side, a typewriter emerges, energetic voices and expressions and some ambient noises as a backdrop. Towards the end of this side an interesting dialogue emerges between the riffs, the zigzagging keyboards, and the random rhythms of the drums.
