El bávaro Markus Guentner es uno de los máximos exponentes del ambient y minimalismo y su primer disco se editó hace 20 años. Desde entonces tiene una discografía de más de diez discos editados en los sellos Kompakt, Sending Orbs, Moodgadget y Affin. Inventor del estilo “pop ambient” que ha sido difundido a través de las compilaciones del mismo nombre publicadas en Kompakt, donde se ha dado a conocer a un importante camada de artistas internacionales. 

"Extropy" es el final de una trilogía que se edita A Strangely Isolated Place cuya temática es la astronomía. Desde la creación de la Tierra y la Luna, a la relación que la Tierra tiene con la Gran Galaxia, hasta ahora “Extropy” y el crecimiento indefinido de la vida que tanto apreciamos.

“Extropy” consiste en siete tracks cuya columna vertebral son largos pasajes de teclados ambientales que fluyen a través de finos contornos melódicos que navegan a través de los vericuetos del espacio. En este escenario de atmósferas cálidas se aprecian emergentes trompetas, campanas que configuran una música épica.

Guentner ofrece una escucha profunda que invita al oyente a un estado contemplativo. este debe ser a mi juicio uno de los mejores de ambient de este año.

Bavarian Markus Guentner is one of the greatest exponents of ambient and minimalism nowadays and his first album was released 20 years ago. Since then he has a discography of more than ten albums released on Kompakt, Sending Orbs, Moodgadget and Affin labels. He is the inventor of the “pop ambient” genre that has been spread through compilations of the same name published on Kompakt, where has been made known to several international artists.

"Extropy" is the end of a trilogy published by the A Strangely Isolated Place imprint whose theme is astronomy. From the creation of the Earth and the Moon to the relationship that the Earth has with the Great Galaxy, until now "Extropy" and the indefinite growth of life that we appreciate so much.

"Extropy" consists of seven tracks whose backbones are long passages of ambient keyboards that flow through fine melodic contours that navigate through the twists and turns of space. In this setting of warm atmospheres you can see emerging trumpets, bells that make up an epic music.

Guentner offers deep listening that invites the listener into a contemplative state. This must be in my opinion one of the best ambient records of the year.
