El dúo escocés de Glasgow compuesto por el baterista Kevin Daniel Cahill y el guitarrista Graham Costello editaron su álbum debut "Offworld" por el sello Gearbox Records. La propuesta reúne elementos del minimalismo, del ambient y la improvisación, utilizando paisajes sonoros y cintas de loop.

Arranca este LP con el single “The Visitant” con un loop envolvente y suaves golpes de la batería, casi tribal, que va marcando un ritmo hipnótico y ensoñador que se quisiera fuera eterno. En “Pavan II” los breves acordes de la guitarra eléctrica y sus delays nos evocan a The Durutti Column y sus expansivas notas melódicas y ciertamente melancólicas que se encuentran en buena parte de este disco. Se desarrollan atmósferas inquietantes en “We Rebuild Them” dentro de un loop que combina guitarra y texturas electrónicas. El track que da título a este álbum despliega una guitarra cristalina y luminosa que se esparce por el ambiente acariciando nuestros oídos con sus bellas melodías. Los efectos de distorsión de la guitarra y el ritmo de la batería en “Pylons II” se aceleran, alcanzando un climax donde el ruido se hace presente hasta desaparecer en el horizonte.

“Offworld” propone paisajes sonoros que evocan un profundo trabajo hipnótico del dúo.

The Scottish duo from Glasgow made up by drummer Kevin Daniel Cahill and guitarist Graham Costello released their debut album "Offworld" on Gearbox Records. The proposal brings together elements of minimalism, ambient and improvisation, using soundscapes and tape loops.

The LP starts with the single "The Visitor" with an enveloping loop and soft drums, almost tribal, that sets a hypnotic and dreamy beat that one would like to be endless. On “Pavan II” the short chords of the electric guitar and its delays evoke The Durutti Column and its expansive melodic and certainly melancholic notes that are found in much of this album. Brooding atmospheres unfold on “We Rebuild Them” along with a loop that fuse guitar and electronic textures. The title track of this album displays a crystalline and luminous guitar that spreads through the ambience caressing our ears with its beautiful melodies. The guitar distortion effects and the drum beats on “Pylons II” accelerate, reaching a climax where noise is present until it disappears on the horizon.
