Himukalt | "Between My Teeth" | The Helen Scarsdale Agency | 2021

Himukalt | "Between My Teeth" | The Helen Scarsdale Agency | 2021

A new release from experimental California The Helen Scarsdale Agency label that reissue “Between My Teeth”, after a cassette limited edition on Greek label Several Minor Promise in 2018.

Loud, twisted and dark electronics is what Las Vegas-based artist Ester Kärkkäinenaka offers under the moniker of Himukalt.

She opens with “Cataclysm” with her nervous electric lashes along with an industrial rhythmic base that creates a tense and unpredictable atmosphere. “She Went Mad" with her throbbing rhythms and heartbreaking voices manipulated in such a way that she crushes them and makes them unrecognizable. “I No Longer Belong” displays bursts of pure noise, while “Mine” proposes more danceable rhythms under a suffocating and alienating atmosphere. “In Every Stage Of This Oppression ”the voltage of the electric discharge becomes unsustainable but fails to explode. "Not Proper" the speech cannot be deciphered but it is noted that it focuses on sexual exploitation.

This proposal is played by the extreme and open sounds that Kärkkäinenaka puts on the table.
