Sweeney | "Misery Peaks" | Sound In Silence | 2021

Sweeney | "Misery Peaks" | Sound In Silence | 2021

¡Bello disco!

Jason Sweeney, under the moniker of Sweeny is a composer and singer based in Kaurna Country in South Australia.

"Misery Peaks" is a limited edition of 200 hand-numbered and handcrafted collectible copies. It is Sweeney's third full-length album and contains eight delicate songs adorned with layers of drones, glitches, and electronic soundscapes. Combining ambient, neoclassical and dream pop.

Sweeney, our crooner of the 21st century, plays with his voice, processing it or leaving it fragile, making subtle nods to David Sylvian and Marc Hollis.

In “Please Accept My Love”, one of the notable of this album, our protagonist exudes pure romanticism, unveiling a beautiful love song in which humility and dedication are shown.

The electronic textures on “Stolen Bones” create an eerie atmosphere, coupled with the string sessions, they show Sweeney's dark side.

“Sun” begins with noise in a post-industrial environment that does not presage the surprising piano notes together with a languid, powerful and above all emotional voice. “Skin” with its different layers of processed voices and his own voice without effects, contains subtle noises, echoes and beautiful melodies. "Solitear" seems like a desperate song where the voice has a shadow of anguish.

"Sometimes The Rain" is a melancholic song that closes an emotional album that enchants for its candid atmospheres. Beautiful album!
