Philippe Gerber aka JOHN 3:16 lanza su nuevo album “Tempus Edax Rerum” que editó el sello de Brooklyn Alrealon Musique, a finales de Noviembre. Este es su segundo álbum después de “Visions of The Hereafter” (2012).  

Este nuevo disco presenta a Carolyn O'Neill / Rasplyn de Chicago en vocales e instrumentos adicionales.

“Tempus Edax Rerum” es ciertamente oscuro y expansivo con influencias del dark ambient, drone y el doom. Es la banda sonora de estos tiempos sombríos que se baten entre la esperanza y la desesperanza. 

El título de este disco significa "Tiempo, el devorador de todas las cosas" en latín y que por cierto también puede considerarse el signo de los tiempos. 

“Part II” es notable, con los riff de guitarra afilada, en tanto los sintetizadores crean una muralla de ruido que se mantiene inalterable por varios minutos, acompañada de tambores marciales que llevan al oyente a entrar en un trance hipnótico. En “Part III” la guitarra siempre presente teje acordes que exudan cierta urgencia y tonos melódicos. 

Finaliza este disco con “Part V” con el estruendo de la guitarra y la contundencia de los potentes tambores que anuncian un mundo en estado de tensión.

Philippe Gerber aka JOHN 3:16 releases his new album "Tempus Edax Rerum" released by Brooklyn label Alrealon Musique on November 30. This is his second album after “Visions of The Hereafter” (2012).

This new album features Carolyn O'Neill / Rasplyn from Chicago on additional vocals and instruments.

“Tempus Edax Rerum” is certainly dark and expansive with influences from dark ambient, drone and doom. It is the soundtrack of these dark ages that struggle between hope and despair.

The title of this album means “Time (is) the devourer of things” to Latin and which by the way can also be considered the sign of the times.

“Part II” is remarkable, with the sharp guitar riffs, as the synthesizers create a wall of noise that remains unchanged for several minutes, accompanied by martial drums that take the listener into a hypnotic trance. On “Part III” the ever-present guitar weaves chords that exude a certain urgency and melodic tones.

This album ends with “Part V” with a guitar roar and the forcefulness of the powerful drums that announce a world in a state of tension.
