Black To Comm es el seudónimo del artista radicado en Hamburgo Marc Richter. Sus álbumes han sido publicados por Thrill Jockey, Type Recordings y en su propio sello Dekorder.

Richter compone bandas sonoras para películas y crea instalaciones acusmáticas multicanal para instituciones como INA GRM en París y ZKM en Karlsruhe. También graba como Jemh Circs y Mouchoir Étanche para su nuevo sello Cellule 75.

“A C of M” es un cassette album que compila grabaciones realizadas durante las primeras dos semanas de cuarentena por el Coronavirus en Europa, junto a sus registros de campo nuevos y antiguos. Grabó los audio de su cuenta de Twitter en los que capturó a la gente tocando sus instrumentos en sus propias casas, gritos en la calle y protestas de movimientos anti vacuna, entre otros.

Con esta amalgama de sonidos nuestro protagonista mezcló estas grabaciones, las intervino con loops y grabaciones de campo caseras y de campo. El resultado es un compilado de grabaciones que por momentos muestra la psicosis del encierro y la banda sonora de un filme distópico. “Ausfahrt Leben” viene a confirmar lo anterior, cuando no hay salida y el fin llega a la hora menos pensada.

Black To Comm is the moniker of Hamburg-based artist Marc Richter. His albums have been released by Thrill Jockey, Type Recordings and on his own Dekorder label.

Richter composes film scores and creates multi-channel acoustic installations for institutions such as INA GRM in Paris and ZKM in Karlsruhe. He also records as Jemh Circs and Mouchoir Étanche for his new Cellule 75 imprint.

"A C of M" is a cassette album that compiles recordings made during the first two weeks of lockdown in relation with the Coronavirus in Europe, together with new and old field recordings. He recorded the audio of his Twitter account in which he captured people playing their instruments in their own homes, people shouting in the streets and demonstrations by anti-vaccine movements, among others.

With this amalgam of sounds, our protagonist mixed these recordings, intervened them with loops and home and field recordings. The result is a compilation of recordings that at times shows the psychosis of the confinement and the soundtrack of a dystopian film. "Ausfahrt Leben" confirms the later, when there is no way out and the end comes at the least expected time.
