Gold Cage es una banda de Los Ángeles compuesta por la cantante y bajista Mony Katz, el cantante y guitarrista Cole Devine y el baterista Sage Ross.
“Social Crutch” es el ábum debut de este trío de post punk cuyo sonido evoca a Galaxie 500, Felt, Slowdive o a los españoles Belver Yin. 
El loop de la guitarra en “Repeater Kember” con el ritmo arrastrado de la batería y la voz sugerente y cancina de Mony Katz hacía presagiar un disco con flirteos al slow-core de Codeine o Low. Sin embargo, “Halcion” nos lleva a otro derrotero del indie rock de principios de los ’90. “What Is Left” y “Shadows” son dos piezas tan delicadas como austeras que se adornan con una suave voz y cristalinas guitarras.
“Ripples” se acompaña de las voces de Katz y Devine y el riff de guitarra no alcanza la distorsión, sino que se modera por si sola mostrando que la simpleza es una virtud.
Gold Cage nos lleva a revalorar los sonidos de hace unas décadas que suenan tan vigentes como necesarios para el alma.

Los Angeles based Gold Cage band is comprised by singer and bassist Mony Katz, singer and guitarist Cole Devine and drummer Sage Ross.
"Social Crutch" is the debut album of this post-punk trio whose sound evokes Galaxie 500, Felt, Slowdive or Spaniards Belver Yin.
The guitar loop on “Repeater Kember” with the pace dragged of the drums and Mony Katz’s honeyed voice made a record with flirtations to Codeine’s or Low’s slow-core. However, "Halcion" leads us to another indie rock course of the early '90s. "What Is Left" and "Shadows" are two pieces as delicate as austere that are adorned with a soft voice and crystal clear guitars.
"Ripples" is accompanied by the voices of Katz and Devine and the guitar riff does not achieve distortion, but rather moderates itself by showing that simplicity is a virtue.
Gold Cage leads us to reassess the sounds of a few decades ago that sound as valid as necessary for the soul.
